Maybe they’re pre-re-counting them.

They’re trucking in the emergency “pre-filled out” Hahn ballots.

This can take awhile with the LA freeway congestion.

“There are conservatives in Calif once you get east of the SF, Marin, and LA areas.”

I know that the Central Valley is predominantly Republican, but I think all you Pubbies are crazy for staying. Farmers in the San Joaquin Valley are being victimized for the benefit of lizards and every Republican is holding him/herself up to ridicule for staying in a dying situation.

I wear a Fog City Diner watch but for my money, I hope a fence is erected around San Francisco to prevent all those loons from leaving.

BTW, what’s the status of the proposed new stadium for the A’s?

With vote-by-mail ballots counted and seven of 261 precincts reporting, Hahn had collected 54.25 percent of the vote to Huey’s 45.76 percent, out of 39,612 votes cast. The early count reflects vote by mail ballots returned through Saturday.

Polling locations closed at 8 p.m. in the Venice-to-San Pedro district, which favors Democrats in registration by 18 percent.

Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder-County Clerk Dean Logan said the next poll updates are expected beginning around 10 p.m.

The California Central Valley produces 17% of U.S. crops. It needs to be saved. Period.

Wow, this is taking forever. Polls have been closed over 2 hours and still only 10% reporting. Anyone know if there’s some kind of problem, or is this normal in California?

I was fond of Original Joe's in Kieu Kim San, but after returning found that taking trolly and a stroll for a plate of pasta in that district wasn't a real good idea.

BTW, some of the loons have already migrated.....here.

It’s normal for the entire Pacific Coast. I don’t know how many somewhat close races I’ve seen go on for weeks over there.

Hahn-24,821
Huey-19,976

20%

Not looking good, but it could still be pulled off depending if Venice and other super liberal parts are in these numbers. If it is, then Huey can pull it off.

There is a link on the county website to a set of maps that have been posted showing “polling place closings”. I don’t know if that is any indication of which votes are counted first, but it did show Venice/MDR and San Pedro “closing*” first while El Segundo, Manhattan and Hermosa were among the last to close. The 4th update, which is what you get if you click the link now, shows all polling places closed.

It ain’t over til’ it’s over. :-)

*”closing” - I assume they mean when all of the administrative work has been completed as some did not “close” until well past the 8PM time.

That would tend to indicate that Venice/MDR and San Pedro would be counted first, I suppose. That would bode well for Huey right now. However, the closing of the others later could indicate funny business.

I don’t think that was funny business.
The 4 status maps posted were all within about 45 minutes.
Just crossing the t’s and dotting the i’s, I think.

I wish they would publish results by precinct.

Looks like it’s over to me. Oh, well, let’s head after Weiner’s old seat! That’s only D+5, while this is D+12. A seven point swing from this race could have pulled it off for Huey. Let’s see it if it works in NY.
