Finally, a simple, common-sense response to Great Leader. Libs will suddenly turn into poorly made 70’s robots: Does not compute...does not compute!

Marco Rubio was on the Hugh Hewitt Show last night pointing this out, and doing a really outstanding job. The GOP needs to make him the point man on this, and keep him in front of cameras and microphones as much as possible.

Oh. Very nice. You expect his Czars and his 144 White House staffers who make $150,000 a year to go without pay just so some blue-hair who's on his or her last legs or some uneducated boob who got stuck serving in Iraq can get money to spend any way they want.

You're a jerk.

He’s so brave to threaten senior citizens.
He knows if he threatened the “food stamps and welfare” category on that list with losing their bennies, we’d already have riots in the street today.

Don't worry, Grandma. You may have to skip a couple of checks but if so it will be in the knowledge that no thuggish dictators were harmed in the process. They won't have to skip any checks.

not just Obama, but also Mitch McConnell is playing up the hoax too that we’ll default if we don’t raise the ceiling.

We need to just pay $19 billion a month on interest payments to keep from defaulting.

I just had it out with a liberal. What he said was, yes, there is plenty of SS money. But, if we don’t pass the to increase the debt ceiling, there will be no money to run SS offices that process the checks.

Servicing the debt is connected with bonds and loans. SS is not part of the equation, unless unscrupulous politicians try to make it so.
YET, NO REPUBLICANS WILL COME OUT AND SAY SO BECAUSE HE GAME IS MORE IMPORTANT TO THE BELTWAY THAN THE RESULT!

The Republicans can own them on this issue if they're smart. Just make the following statement:

Yesterday the President of the United States and the Senate Majority Leader vowed to balance the budget on the backs of seniors, the sick and our service members if a debt limit increase is not passed by Congress. The President is responsible for determining what items are the highest priority and will get paid and which ones will be deferred or cut. The President and Majority Leader have announced in no uncertain terms that bureaucrats, special interest groups and corporate cronies are more important than those among us who are the most vulnerable and those who are risking their lives to keep us free.

Budget info for SSA:

http://www.ssa.gov/budget/FY11%20Key%20Tables.pdf

By my count, monthly outlay for SS is about $67 billions.

So, there is still plenty of ‘revenue’ available to send out those checks, and the other items mentioned in the article.

Obama is evil, plain and simple.

He might threaten, but he wouldn’t dare stop SS/Medicare.

The Gray Panthers would claw him relentlessly. He would be losing the AARP’s supposed 40 million membership.

That would be disaster for his reelection [assuming he is not forced by the Dem Party to step aside early next year].

Good article showing how these political crack addicts have to lie and dissemble to keep the great fraud going.

That they fall back to their usual trick of trying to scare grandma shows how morally bankrupt they are.

I’ve been saying this for months. There’s more than enough money coming in monthly to prevent anything called a “default.” A ‘default” occurs only when we either cannot render interest on the existing debt, or redeem existing notes, which we would then have to roll over into new debt.

We have much more than enough to prevent technical default on all existing US Treasury obligation.

We even have enough to pay out Social Security and veteran’s pension payments. And enough to pay active duty military.

What we don’t have is enough to pay defense contractors, pay all the federal boondoggle programs, the various grifter/welfare programs, etc.

The GOP has allowed this “default” meme to get going way too early, way too widely, and they should shut it down with a simple pie chart or something that even the journalists can understand in their innumerate stupor.
