‎(1) Please FREEP this poll, which is currently running 53%-46% in FAVOR of the sanctuary city Mayor of Boston's disgraceful comments, and (2) Contact Mayor Menino and let him know what you think about his comments, and that he consults illegal alien activists to determine what should be a deportable crime: Mayor@CityofBoston.gov.

>>I don’t know if it is a sign of progress or its opposite, but in the Old West they hung horse thieves.<<

SENATOR HARRY REID'S PAST - GREAT UNCLE HORSE THIEF AND TRAIN ROBBER - HANGED IN 1889

No matter what side of the AISLE you're on, THIS is FUNNY and VERY telling!

Word Crafting, Truth telling, and other ways of expressing things.

It just all depends on how you look at some things.. Judy Wallman, a professional genealogy researcher in southern California, was doing some personal work on her own family tree. She discovered that Congressman Harry Reid's great-great uncle, Remus Reid, was hanged for horse stealing and train robbery in Montana in 1889. Both Judy and Harry Reid share this common ancestor.

The only known photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows in Montana territory:

On the back of the picture Judy obtained during her research is this inscription: 'Remus Reid, horse thief, sent to Montana Territorial Prison 1885, escaped 1887, robbed the Montana Flyer six times. Caught by Pinkerton detectives, convicted and hanged in 1889.'

So Judy recently e-mailed Congressman Harry Reid for information about their great-great uncle.

Believe it or not, Harry Reid's staff sent back the following biographical sketch for her genealogy research:

"Remus Reid was a famous cowboy in the Montana Territory. His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Montana railroad. Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to government service, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad. In 1887, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency. In 1889, Remus passed away during an important civic function held in his honor when the platform upon which he was standing collapsed."

NOW THAT's how it's done, Folks! That's REAL POLITICAL SPIN

Steal the mayor's car? I would like to see someone go steal the mayor's personal car---or the car of one his close relatives---and see what punishment the mayor would ask for the car thief.

I wonder if the mayor would demand that the thief be set free, or would the mayor give the thief a big hug and tell the thief that all is forgiven because stealing a car is not such a big crime. Yeah, right.

******

What about stealing city police cars? Does the Boston mayor also consider the stealing of city police cars a minor crime ?

Federal law officials: I wonder what the federal govenment punishment is for stealing cars in one state and taking them to another state, an act that would cause federal officials to get involved.

I don't think that federal officials consider car stealing a "minor" crime.

It was once law in many states you could shoot a person stealing your horse as it was the means of your ability to earn wages and in some cases survive. It was your property. His Highness the mayor should be forced to use foot travel and buses for a few weeks so he can understand what problems the theft of someones vehicle causes them.
