If Obama wins in 2012 it will be because of crap like this.

Then again McConnell might announce a plan to beat Obama by making him dictator for life. “Then he can have all the blame” McConnell will say.

This is an act of War,By the weeper and is going to be the tool of his political demise.

But again the fix is in and he can play Golf the rest of his life.

No, no, NO!

No deal means Obama decides what to cut.
No deal means immediate cuts.
No deal means obama loses in ‘12.
No deal means no immediate huge increase in debt.

Yes deal means immediate huge increase in debt.
Yes deal means obama wins in ‘12 and a 3rd party overtakes Rs
Yes deal means no immediate cuts and no cuts ever [10 years out? Seriously?]

THERE IS NO PRESSURE FOR A DEAL.

The only deal that works is $1 raise for $1 cuts now.

As outlined by McConnell, Congress would temporarily surrender its power to approve any increase in the debt ceiling.
Under the constitution (Congress treats toilet paper better than it treats the constitution), the power to borrow money belongs to Congress. Period.

They can't surrender that power, and I'm not sure they can delegate it.

The GOP is so big about showing the people where, in the constitution, they find certain powers. So, where do McConnell and now Boehner find, in the constitution, a power for the president to borrow money over the objections of a majority of Congress?

I'm rooting for a big collapse - Congress needs to go down, HARD and FAST.

Boehner is going wobbly on us.

I’m guessing he must not like his job much. Looks like we might have to fix that next election cycle.

open to new options to avert a default next month, ...

It doesn't take long for this article to show that its full fledged crap, with the strawman premise that no ceiling increase leads directly to default. Its not worth even the few bits that it takes up on anyone's PC.

He hasn’t taken it off the table, doesn’t mean he’ll buy into it. All these articles, media spins are aimed at dividing and conquering the Repubs. Time for more phone calls to remind them to stand strong. Make the dem’s blink.

The big question is:

Sigh. I hope this isn’t true.

And yes, one of the problems is that once Congress starts “delegating” its powers to the Executive, where does it stop? Do they just plan to hand over everything to Bambi and let him do what he wants, simply because he pitched a fit the other day?

I can’t believe this is even constitutional.

If Bonehead goes for increasing the debt ceiling he put the nail in the coffin for America. Somewhere in the future the Country will not be able to pay for the dept or even the interest. Then the crash will be more severe than it probably would be to do it now. Which will it be. A lesser crash now or total destruction with the continuing of the debt ceiling.

Actually it more like telling Picket's men to kill each other.

Boehner has been all over the place today.

Telling Obama he wont meet at Camp David this weekend.

Putting the Balanced Budget Amendment back on the books.

And throwing the RINO/DINO Globalists a bone.

When this bonehead a$$hole Boehner says on national tv that he isn't really sure whether social security checks would still be sent out if the debt ceiling wasn't raised, I lost ALL faith in the SOB. These career politicians have served their purpose and the need to be put out to pasture.

TERM LIMITS

Amazing. RINOS are always inventing new ways to sell out this country.

I’m guessing that threats to vote the weasel(s) out are worthless - they have made their deals.

Other stories have characterized Boehner as giving ground, but when the details emerge, it is the opposite of that. I am inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt.
