No the Russians don’t have a $90 million dollar toilet. They pooped in a plastic bag until they talked us into building a toilet that would function in zero gravity.

“for all of the innovations that have come from space, it seems the Japanese and Chinese have benefited the most from our advancements.”

Really?

nice try

We’ve all received tremendous benefit from NASA and research associated with their programs. You claimed otherwise which is willful ignorance.

actually, no, I did not, you are an ignoramus who cannot read

I claimed that the Chinese and Japanese have benefited more from our space program.

What technology do we have, that they have not stolen, or that we have not sold them?

What technology do we have, that they do not outproduce us on?

Of course we have received tremendous benefit, the whole world has, but on the back of America, and at an over-bloated price-tag. There was a time when space exploration was economically feasible and affordable when done by our government, but even as far back as the 80’s there were stories of the 3 million dollar hammer in NASA.

We are at the point, imo, where we just cannot afford the luxury of being the research vessel for the world, while they reap the long-term benefits. If it is such a great investment, let the private sector do it, as they are starting to do.

Disagree? Prove me wrong. Show me where America is still profiting from some innovation from space, that made the price tag for that innovation worth it, as opposed to China and Japan and the rest of the world, who invested nothing in our space program and are reaping the rewards.

Your just another Willy, only your touting space exploration instead of high-speed rail.

The burden of proof is upon you, and I welcome you to prove me wrong, and I could be wrong. But don’t put words into my mouth. You are jousting at windmills. As a conservative, both fiscal and moral, the cost benefit analysis from my perspective (and I’m not a budget wonk by any means) seems to lean towards ending the wasteful program when our country is in such dire straights financially.

If your analysis is different, then I welcome the data on such. I am not close minded, and perhaps you can sway me. Willful ignorance is not wanting to accept reality. Your return of data and proof should indicate who suffers from willful ignorance. One liners do not.

I don’t believe in keeping welfare program around just because it “feels good”, and I especially don’t like welfare programs disguised as something else, which are used to buy constituents and votes, and little else, which I think is where our space program is right now, but I am open for an education on the matter.
