I voted for Ford in what? 75. I voted for Reagan twice and worked for him twice in his headquarters in 1983.

I voted for Bumbscrew Bush, then I voted for W the first time....NOT the second time(amnesty) and I did not vote for McCain, and I never will.

I voted Republican in 2004 (my first election) and 2006. Of course, I also thought it was okay for the U.S. to invade other countries and impose democracy (and other U.S. values).

Then, I grew up.

In 2008, I supported a "kook" who has, on multiple occasions over the years proposed bills, under both Democrat-controlled and Republican-controlled Congresses, to separate Social Security funds from the general budget.

The bills died in all Congresses, including the ones controlled by so-called conservatives, many of whom were far more interested in spending like drunken Democrats than they were in actually abiding by the Constitution.

Now you know why I don't vote Republican any more.

I’m surprised to not read more about Strauss’ set up arrest, and chicago’s Lagarde becoming IMF’s new president. All the dots go straight back to White House.

No capiche.

I am very glad you voted the “R” ticket. That really wasn’t the question. Perhaps I was being too subtle.

Of the listed presidents, which of them were had a program to reconstruct SS and Medicare? If I am wrong...please provide a viable link.

And actually, as I’m sure you know, W tried to overhaul SS but was shut down.

Unless you can provide a candidate that you voted for...that had the intestinal fortitude to tackle these issues...we all remain in the same boat. Don’t we?

Every single vote to contract debt that our generation cannot possibly pay is a vote for the enslavement of our grandchildren. It is the stripping of our posterity’s God-given right to self-government by consent.

They did have choices...many choices.

At the ballot box???

Who?

Name one.

Name one choice at the ballot box who would throw away Social Security and Medicare and had a Chinaman's chance in Hell of getting through a primary.

In the meantime, the Feds took the money. They still do, only now it gets handed out to illegals, and those who did pay in won't get squat.

So if you want to make cuts, let's start with people the programs were not designed to pay for, namely those who are not here legally and who did not pay in.

And while we are at it, cleaning up the interpretation of the 14th Amendment to include the "...and under the jurisdiction thereof..." part just might save a few billions too. Send them home.

Well, Rabs, I don't have much faith in the Dems or Repubs either.

I think the one to which you refer to has some sound fiscal ideas, but that is not all there is in being a president.

And..I have a really big problem with Libertarians running as Republicans to get elected. It seems a little bit disingenuous to me. Be who you are. (BTW, I am from Texas..and thankfully do not live in his district.)

But at least I know where you are coming from.

RINOS are merely left wing liberals with a “guilt complex”

It's amusing yet sad to watch conservatives in a frenzy to defend government-run wealth redistribution and government-run health care.

There are a steady stream of them on FR. I've been on this forum for over 15 years. Initially, I thought they were trolls, but then I stopped being naïve. They're for real.

The government teat extends well into the ranks of conservatives.

I don't know if it's a refusal to face the math, an inability to grasp the math, or an attitude of "I paid, now I want mine. Damn the next generation." Maybe it's a combo of all three, but it's not helpful and it gives Democrats support for not reforming entitlements and continuing to expand them.

I’ll take “all three” for $800, Alex.
