NY Times: White House declines to deny Obama lied about his mother

In other words, Obama lied in order to make a political point.
The early death of the president’s mother was a tragedy for her family, but Obama’s manipulation of the narrative about her life was utterly unscrupulous. While her battle for disability coverage probably was stressful, that has nothing to do with her son’s subsequent efforts to impose a government health care plan on the nation. Moreover, it should also be pointed out the president is in no position to claim his untrue account of his mother’s problems was the result of a misunderstanding about a matter in which he was not involved. According to Scott, the correspondence says his mother referred to her son as her attorney in these matters.
For those with short memories, it’s important to recall that Obama has used this story repeatedly, including during one of the presidential debates with opponent John McCain. During that debate he said:
For my mother to die of cancer at the age of 53 and have to spend the last months of her life in the hospital room arguing with insurance companies because they’re saying that this may be a pre-existing condition and they don’t have to pay her treatment, there’s something fundamentally wrong about that.

besides, that may cause people to begin asking: "What other parts of his life has Obama lied about?" And that is a HUGE can o' worms.
Period. Ann Coulter's new book? "DEMONIC" -- pretty much says it all.
The NYT would save reams of paper and gallons of ink if they would just print things that obama DOESN’T lie about...it would be blank,basically.
I don’t feel confident that any GOP candidate will bring this up in any upcoming debate with him.

BUt just the fact that the NYT printed this at all is telling. It was one of our founders that coined the phrase that facts are stubborn things.
Now a followup on his assertion that 80% of Americans want taxes to be increased would be in line to follow a theme, but then again maybe it has as I didn’t give the NYT the web hit to find out.
Oh, hell no. They’re primarily spineless, they’re meek, and they want the press to like them, to not call them “mean-spirited” or “racist”. Same as always. Here’s my news to them: The Press hate you, they always will, and they’ll call you “mean-spirited” and “racist” and a hundred other vindictives throughout your life. Deal with it and fight hard!
Yeah, really. He has lied about everyone else in his family.

During Clinton we had all sorts of stories (after the fact) about his lies. The MSM must expose these lies after they have made their impact just to say that the media is fair.
In Clinton's case, the lies were so numerous that the media started marveling at how good he was at lying.
So, just because the NYT runs a story --- 2 years late -- about Obama lying is not a victory for us in any way!!!!!
Not falling for the trickery if they had the smarts to devise such a brilliant plan, if I had then I would have clicked onto their site.
I have no illusions this is a crack in the veneer, just amazed it got past the editorial staff.

that lie served it’s purpose, the new lie being shouted is how the GOP wants to destroy the economy, social security, medicare, medicade, push granny off a cliff. and the press is going to help the donks in everyway they can.
yeah........he threw his granny under the bus in his “civil rights” speech... the granny that fed him and took care of him. looks like he took a page from the Al Gore book when he milked his sister’s (?) cancer to a fare-thee-well.....O is beginning to rank with Casey Anthony in terms of making things up.
Why all this the fuss over one of Obama's lies?
I've read articles and blog sites devoted to listing Obama's lies. I don’t recall seeing articles or blog sites refuting the fact that Obama's lies repeatedly.
Although I do recall several insinuations, that Obama is awesome. Perhaps that meant Obama is an awesome liar. However, I would think an awesome liar would be a liar whose lies weren’t so often exposed, a stealthy liar if you will.
My first recollection of an Obama lie was when he announced he was a constitutional law professor. This got my attention. I remember saying to myself, “any candidate who understood the Constitution is one I could vote for”.
Obama is a constitutional activist who ignores the founder’s vision for America provided by the Constitution and conducts an administration that supports his Socialist agenda.

Why was it such a tradgedy? When she was alive and well she never spent that much time with them anyway.
An early death is a tradgedy in any family. My father died at 51, but he was with his family his whole life, not roaming around Indonesia, while others in the family raised his children.
