Remember way back when a private conversation of Newt Gingrich was recorded by random, two school teachers in Florida who just accidentally recorded it? Remember how outraged the media was (not)?

Oh, I’m sure they’re hoping to take down Murdoch.
I hope this isn’t SOP at his papers (not that I think for a minute that he condones this). But if they’ve gotten away with it for yrs behind his back, it could spread to other operations.

This will not be as easy as one would think... Murdoch is powerful, ruthless, and he knows things about the right people. They will extract their blood but I do not think that they can take him down... I could be wrong.

I think you are right...the sharks of the MSM and this presidency are circling the victim that is bleeding right now.

I hope they aren’t successful. Fox is flawed, but it’s the closest thing to being “fair” in the media today.

To quote the Minister of Magic from Harry Potter,
“You have nothing to fear, if you have nothing to hide.” he said as his toadies dragged away a Muggleborn Wizard.

......why is this a big deal......?

There have been unverified reports that voice mail and e-mail accounts of 09/11 victims and families may have been hacked. Republican congressman Peter King of NY has asked the FBI to investigate. There is also a US law called the corrupt practices act that prohibits bribery of foreign officials. That is why it may be of interest to us here. At this point it is all allegations, but 10 people have been arrested in the UK so far. Remember the liberal jerk who hacked Palin? He got convicted in a court of law.

What did these Limey morons hope to achieve by doing this? This wasn’t hacking some MP’s phone or some Limey tycoon’s. They hacked the phone of a kidnapped girl, dead soldiers and 7/7 vics. These people are beyond description.

TMZ engages in this stuff every day of the week...no congressional hearings.

This is nothing but an attempt to take down Fox News.

Pardon me this is from memory, the English cell phones were all made with a fall back/backdoor when calling voicemail they allowed 0000 or 1234 as a way to access messages unless changed by the user and most users didnt change the number. they were accused of listening to and deleting evidence of crimes on the phones and interfering with police investigations.

Is this really hacking ? And it’s not a moot question once this gets into the courts..
If it’s unencripted conversation (coded) that goes over the public sirwaves abd is monitored, listened to, which anyone with the right equipment can do. Then it’s not being “hacked into” hence decoded, but monitored and in the US legal.

It’s not clear what Murdock’s people were doi9ng and of course the anti-democratic socialist forces are creating another revisionist straw hound to kick around.. But in a heartbeat would use it if they’re not doing so already
