In the early weeks of her presidential run, Michele Bachmann has avoided getting bogged down in the divisive, distracting terrain of social policy.
Gay rights groups say they plan to change that.
Even as Bachmanns tightly-disciplined campaign pivots sharply away from her roots as a social conservative warrior to embrace her newer image as a Tea Party fiscal crusader, gay leaders are looking to drag her back into the fray.
Energized by victory in New York last month, they say Bachmanns campaign will be both the focus of their attention and a useful rallying cry as the presidential campaign hits its stride during the crucial summer of 2011.
The reason: The third-term Minnesota congresswoman and her husband, therapist Marcus Bachmann, have a history of battling gay rights groups in Minnesota long before she stepped onto the national stage.

Maybe it won't. There may be more people than you realize who are tired of having the homosexual agenda forced on them and their children.
America is much bigger than San Franciso and New York. Just remember that everywhere that same sex marriage has been put on the ballot, the people rejected it, even in liberal California. This really gets people’s attention. The apathetic will start looking into this. All you have to do is type “gay” into your computer and you will find millions of references. Millions of americans will be introduced to the smarminess of the queer world. After they get off their computers, they will need to take a shower.
Has Sarah Palin spoken out on gay issues? Especially same sex marriage and gays being forced into the military?
