Bachmann criticizes black farmer settlement (she has them scared to death)

Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann pointed to one program in particular Monday when talking about wasteful government spending: a multibillion dollar settlement paid to black farmers, who claim the federal government discriminated against them for decades in awarding loans and other aid.

The issue came up after Bachmann and Republican Rep. Steve King of Iowa toured flooded areas along the Missouri River. During a news conference, they fielded a question about whether farmers affected by the flooding also should be worried by proposed U.S. Department of Agriculture cuts.

The two responded by criticizing a 1999 settlement in what is known as the Pigford case, after the original plaintiff, North Carolina farmer Timothy Pigford. Late last year, President Barack Obama signed legislation authorizing a new, nearly $1.2 billion settlement for people who were denied payments in the earlier one because they missed deadlines for filing.

King has likened the Pigford settlement to "modern-day reparations" for African-Americans. He said Monday a large percentage of the settlement "was just paid out in fraudulent claims" and criticized the Obama administration's plan to resolve separate lawsuits filed by Hispanic and female farmers.

Seeing all of these media hit pieces on Michele actually is rather satisfying. Their pre-ordained nominee, Mittens, is obviously in far bigger trouble than the publicly released polls indicate. And they are following the same playbook used in every election cycle: if the undesirable candidate starts making too much headway, sacrifice him/her on the altar of yellow journalism.

Apparently all that was required to get money from the Pigford settlement was to have eaten food grown on a farm once, seen a picture of a cow, and be black.

I have read that a large portion of the people getting the payments are not and never have been farmers and do not have and have never had a farm.

Yeah what about PIGFORD.. any other republican candidates even CARE!!?..
If so, what have they DONE!!?...

What about Romney, Hunztman, Pawlenty, Trump, Caine, anybody even CARE?..
You already KNOW O’Racist and his administration could care LESS..

Seems like Bachmann is the only one that even cares..
Caine seems to turn his head from this obvious racist boondoggle..
I would think Caine would be the most irate and offended.. {crickets}..

That would be me. Can I still apply? We got raw milk and eggs from the farm. And, added bonus: I rode a cow.

This is a freaking scam. As usual from this admin. What are they going to do when they run out of Opium? (other people’s money, say O P M fast, you’ll get it)

The Indian Cobell settlement is even a bigger pile of buffalo dung than the Pigford droppings. There needs to be some hearings on what went on with these two minority handout programs. If the allegations are true, why aren’t we seeing a bunch of government bureaucrats doin’ the “perp walk” for “discriminating” against “minorities”? While whitey was “discriminating” against the Indians, they were buying up ranches and land for their casinos. Something stinks here and it smells like commie PIG and BUFFALO ****!

It was Grandma’s house, and we also had an outhouse. It was a gravel road. I got to live a live that romantic notion that movies were made of. We were at her house half a year. I could talk more ‘old days’, this was the 60’s-70’s, back when I was supposed to be a baby boomer.

I’m so sick and tired of being labeled as a boomer, when the freaking hippies are our problem. It should be call the hippie boomers. They’ve been a problem since they started they’re crazy movement, ie, Chicago, Woodstock, Kent state, bombing Madison. I was 8-9, and I’m associated with this crap? Now, they’ve moved to Washington and the WH. Spit.

"Claw every cent back from these shake-down artists"

Recovery of the fraud could be done by witholding their welfare checks, food stamps, etc.

As for their Lawyers.....charge them with Fraud, revoke their Licenses, and incarcerate the bastards.
