“If Republicans don’t........they need their head examined.” (Vanity)
The O'Reilly Factor - July 18, 2011 | July 18, 2011 | no dems

Posted on 07/18/2011 6:22:42 PM PDT by no dems

Tonight on "The O'Reilly Factor", Bernie Goldberg said: “If Republicans don’t put Marco Rubio on the ticket, they need their head examined.”

THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING FOR MONTHS!! Marco knocked it out of the park on CBS "Face the Nation" yesterday and had Bob Schieffer reeling on his heels. Bernie says that Marco Rubio can articulate the GOP's positions to the more non-sophisticated voters, better than anyone. Bill agreed and also said, what I've been saying: The GOP needs Rubio on the Ticket to carry Florida. Whoever wins Florida, IMO, will occupy the White House.

Marco Rubio will do for the GOP Ticket in 2012 what Sarah Palin did in 2008. PALIN/RUBIO

Well, if you utter “Romney-Rubio” around here (SSShhhhh!) you’ll get beaten up, but I think its a realistic possibility. Of course, Perry may jump in and change that. I don’t see Sarah (God bless her) doing it. Whatever happens, yes, Rubio is the party’s best spokesman by far!

Yes, I just watched that segment on O’Reilly. Bernie is most likely correct, but more important is who resides at the top of the ticket....

He’s not constitutionally eligible.

NEITHER IS THE ONE IN OFFICE NOW!

I agree in many ways, but sticking people who just showed up on the national scene isn’t always the best in the long term for either the candidate or our party. If he was prepared with a few more years experience, he would be my dream candidate at the top of the ticket. For now, I’d rather see him focus on helping win Florida and building his national prominence as the RNC keynote speaker.

Of course, if he was asked and chose to be the VP candidate, I’d probably be elated.

Marco Rubio will do for the GOP Ticket in 2012 what Sarah Palin did in 2008.

Remind me: What did Sarah Palin do in 2008?

Romney is worthless, and he will inspire a serious third party challenge. Even Rubio couldn’t save that clown. Bob

Rubio on a Romney ticket would just be a rerun of McCain-Palin. You’re not going to defeat Obama with a doofus RINO at the top of the ticket.

A third party challenge, maybe, but not a serious challenge. It will only re-elect The One.

Rubio needs to be vetted, but I agree... He looks like the best choice at this point. If he had more experience, he’d be looking good for the top of the ticket.

She motivated the base to get out and vote for the odious McCain team. It’s not her fault that they wrote stupid speeches for her, and failed to make an issue of the fact that she was far more qualified than Obama. McCain’s campaign *remained* suspended after the financial catastrophe and he wasn’t cagey enough to place the blame where it lay, on Clinton, Obama and other Democrats. Bob

When I see poll numbers showing anyone else running neck and neck with Obama, I’ll believe you. Right now, only one person has achieved that. Am I open to anyone else? Of course! But I am a realist. They gotta show me.

I didn’t say that I WISHED for it to happen, but Romney is just another socialist who will kill our country, albeit at a slower pace. SOMEONE will jump in and run, no matter what I think. Bob

Well, very few people can refuse the call when it comes. If the nominee and the GOP really feel that he could help the Ticket and the nation..... it would be unpatriotic for him to say "no"?
