Rick Perry For President? Meet 24 Billionaires Who've Backed Him
Forbes ^ | July 20, 2011 | Clare O'Connor

Posted on 07/20/2011 12:28:59 PM PDT by Clairity

In a federal race like the presidency, each donor can only give $2,500 per candidate. However, there's nothing stopping powerful 'bundlers' from collecting checks from their rich friends. President Obama is already taking advantage of these super - donors: billionaire Democrats including Penny Pritzker and Marc Benioff have already raised hundreds of thousands for the reelection campaign. Perry must be hoping his past billionaire donors will do the same. Per Texas state disclosure records:

So does Sarah Palin who has stated that Rick Perry "walks the walk of a true conservative". .... jla

Nice generalization, however, Sarah came out strong in favor of AZ1070 and has stated unequivocally that she wants a Physical fence built along the southern border. Two policy position issues that tell you whether someone is Open Borders or not. ..... SoConPubbie

So, spending Billions of dollars (that we have to borrow from China) on a "physical fence" that illegals can easily climb over, cut through or dig under "tells you whether someone is Open Borders or not"?

YouTube Video of illegals easily going over, under and through the "Physical Fence"

Putting the Texas National Guard and the Texas Rangers to patrol the border, like Perry did, means nothing?

Gov. Perry Announces Highly Skilled Ranger Recon Teams as Texas Efforts to Enhance Border Security

Putting National Guard tropps with human brains and putting Texas Rangers with human brains on active border patrol means nothing?

Only putting brainless slabs of steel in the ground that any illegal Mexican, with an I.Q. above the temperature of a cold Corona beer, can easily climb over means anything?

The only thing that means anything is spending Billions of dollars on a "physical fence" that an 18 year old girl can climb to the top of in 18 seconds on her first try?

YouTube Video: 2 girls undermine entire US border strategy in under 18 seconds

Or else you are "Open Border"?

Ummm ..... Okaaay ... Whatever you say, SoConPubbie.

Here is how your brilliant plan is working, so far, in the border sections where the "Physical Fence" already exists.

Bottom line, she was a 2 1/2 year governor who taxed the oil companies but didn't tax logging or fishing industries and used the Alaska Constitution as cover.

Every Alaska governor since TAPS started pumping oil in 1977 has taxed the oil companies. Frank Murkowski put in a net-revenue tax (PPT) before Palin did. Problem is, his secret deal cratered Alaska oil revenues, put the state on the path to bankruptcy, stopped new oil exploration in its tracks and put corrupt Republican politicians in jail.

Sarah Palin came in and cleaned up the mess with a bipartisan plan negotiated in broad daylight. The base rate went from 22.5% under Murkowski to 25% under Palin's plan. The deal killed the backroom kickbacks, put a floor of 10% on the tax when prices were low so the oil companies didn't get killed, graduated the rates as prices escalated similar to production sharing agreements all over the world, provided substantial tax incentives for new oil exploration, and allowed Alaskans to share in the good times from the oil that belonged to them while still allowing the oil companies to clean up, profit-wise.

Oil companies are swimming in profits from Alaskan oil operations. ConocoPhillips -- which breaks out their profits from Alaskan operations -- routinely reports profits from Alaskan oil operations far in excess of profits from other places. In 1Q 2009 with the Palin plan fully in place, for instance, they reported 29% of their worldwide profits came from Alaska, which was 12% of their production.

I just hope Gov. Palin gets a chance to work for me like that in DC. I guarantee you I'll be better off. The GOP's "good friends" on K Street will think it sucks, I'm sure, but they would LOVE Rick Perry. He's Haley Barbour's fair-haired boy after all.

I still doubt he runs. No 'fire in the belly'. He looks to me like Fred Thompson with really good hair.

"Where do you fit in?"

If the game is feudalism vs socialism, somewhere well away from where the game is being played. I sold my house and business about the time the subprime meltdown was starting and moved back to the sticks. I'm in full Galt mode now. I raise most of my own food, barter alot, and make enough cash under the table to keep from eating into my nest egg. If I need to, I have the means to leave the country. Not enough to live like a king in New Zealand, but enough for a modest retirement somewhere like Chile or the Philippines.

My ancestors left Europe to get away from this garbage. Serfdom is serfdom.

“Nobody sinks that much money into a candidate without expecting some direct ROI.”

Their ROI with Perry is the ability to be able to NOT have Obama take away their money and “redistribute” it. Sounds good to me. Anyone who is productive and has any sense would want Obama defeated, and Perry is the one who can do it.

Republican Candidates vs. Obama polls:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/president_obama_vs_republican_candidates.html

Obama beats Palin with a larger margin than he beats anyone else. (Perry vs Obama was not polled)

Wake up to reality, otherwise we’ll end up with 4 more years of Obama.

Does anybody really believe that Baraq Obama (who only polled 53% against McLame and a demoralized R party) will defeat anybody in 2012?

Running ON a reality of 10% unemployment, $4 gas, skyrocketing food costs, plunging home prices, and recurring $1.5 trillion deficits.

Running AGAINST what will likely be the most energized, inspired anti-POTUS campaign ever?

To Hell with “guest workers!”

Prosecute employers that hire illegals, and publicize the prosecution in spanish. The law breakers will leave of their own accord, and we can then hire reliable workers that are not law breakers, and not bent on destroying our culture.

It’s very dangerous to underestimate Obama - could anybody here have actually predicted that Obama would get 67% of the electoral vote in 2008?

>> “Sure, you are smarter than all those billionaires who really care about the business climate, jobs, and economic growth.” <<

Bullshit!

They care about owning the president, and protecting the elitists in congress.

We need Palin to prosecute the law breakers in congress, and these billionaire office buyers.

Thake their names folks so we know they’ve been prosecuted.

OK so he won a bunch of states by slim margins in 08 (my state of Indiana being one). And he’ll lose all those by even bigger margins in 012.

The 08 electoral numbers don’t scare me at all.

More bullshit!

Obama doesn’t want to redistribute the billionaires money, he protects it.

He redistributes small business owner’s money, you know, the guys that make all the jobs!

Stuff your elitist polls up the same place your head is.

Palin has the strongest following of any candidate in either party.
