No offense meant to the Catholic FReepers, but I am glad this guy was executed. I understand his sister died in the WTC, but he acted on the fallacious reasoning that a person can be judged by his appearance.

Because many are against execution...and many revere Pope John Paul II, who was firmly against it in almost all cases. On the other hand, there are those who give convicted murderers more right-to-die than innocent men, whom they say would be sinful if they chose to die.
My head spins at it, which is why I was trying to figure out how to word my comment and used the awkward definite article. I guess I probably offended more with the disclaimer than I would have without!
I also noted while looking into the case more that he quite likely was just committing a robbery.
Yet KSM lives on, might even be freed if Holder has his way.
How did this POS get executed after “only” 9 years on death row? Other people get executed after 20 or more.

Because he’s not a Muslim responsible for 3000 deaths. If he were, his trial would be delayed as long as possible so the A.G. of the U.S. could get him freed in a civilian trial.
Actually, there were a number of Japanese Americans who pretended to be Chinese during those days.
There was the actress Lotus Pearl Shibata who restyled herself “Lotus Long” to avoid the roundup.
I tried to soothe their worry by making the following comments:

Finally, gents, it's really awful that this man was killed, and I am not trying to make excuses for this murderer, but running a sleepy late-night liquor store out on a remote highway in central Texas is pretty dangerous business. Getting killed by a gunman is almost something that would have happened to him eventually anyway."
They agreed and seemed to feel better. I recall that several other Indian engineers who were friends of theirs started treating me like they were familiar friends after that.

If only he had killed a cop, he’d have had all the hollyweirdos and die-hard sixties radicals pulling for him. He’d have had his own radio show. There would have been a national debate about whether the death penalty was an effective deterrent. But noooo. He kills someone with a towel on his head, and suddenly we have consensus that he should get croaked. Oh, well. Good riddance. I hope this reassures Palestinians that in America laws are justly and equally enforced, so they’ll all move to San Francisco, Malibu, and the “Lower East Side” of Manhattan.
Except that he wasn’t a soldier, and what he did had nothing to do with 9/11.
