Majority of US Jews disapproves of Obama's Arab-Israeli conflict policy; separate poll shows Muslims blame West for domestic problems.

WASHINGTON – US President Barack Obama handily defeats his current Republican presidential opponents among Jewish voters, according to a poll put out by J Street Thursday.

At the same time, the majority of American Jews disapproves of his handling of the Arab-Israeli conflict, the poll found.

Obama currently enjoys 63 percent of the American Jewish vote compared to 24% for Mitt Romney and 67% when facing off against Michele Bachmann, who received 19% support, according to the poll.

Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts, and Bachmann, a Minnesota Congresswoman, are leading polls of announced contenders for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.

Polling in 2008 showed Obama with a similar lead over his Republican competitor John McCain, though he ended up garnering 78% of the Jewish vote according to exit polls.

The J Street poll also showed much higher Jewish approval ratings for Obama than most other American constituencies, finding that 60% approve of the way he is handling his job. An aggregate of other polls shows that his national approval ratings are in the mid-40s.

Very well said. And the majority of the Jews did not leave Egypt with Moses. The parallels with American Jews remain as a minority are righteous or do the right thing.

“J-Street - wolf in sheep skin

J-Street is pretending to be pro-Israel, pro-peace organization, however, the list of its donors includes a number of muslims, the founder, Soros, is anti-Israel, and J-Street activity demonstrates anti-Israel intends. The organizations advocates for division of Jerusalem, full support for Obama’s plan for Israel destruction including 1967 border, support for Goldstone report. In other words, J-Street is an advocate for elimination of the State of Israel. Their profound ignorance in Israel and ME history and international law is astonishing. Their only motivations are money and political position close to the US government. They change their rhetoric now not because it was wrong, but because they need Israel support to represent themselves for US Jewish community and get support for their nominations to the US Senate and Congress on the next elections. And who are their nominees: “Gang of 54” anti-Israel lawmakers who signed a letter to Obama asking him to press Israel hard for more concessions. Please, for the sake of Israel and Jewish people in Israel and US, do not give J-Street legitimacy to represent Israel, as this will lead to catastrophe.
J-Street is a gang of islamofascist whores with knowledge and education are limited to wahhaby school for muslim dummies. “

Comment on poll.

Polls of USA Jews should not determine USA policy towards Israel and Middle East. The entire USA population, including Christians who have a strong interest in preserving the Holy Land sites and insuring their continued open access to pilgrimages.

“They need to send ‘missionaries’ back here to talk to their left behind Diaspora-ites.”

We do, actually. Very actively.

I’m not very far removed from the recent past. I grew up with grandparents who were survivors and I’m very involved with the care of those still living as well as being involved in Holocaust education. I think as a whole, people my age under similar circumstances are more conservative than our peers.

I know many people here aren’t going to understand this, but the actual survivors in my family where/are democrats. This has a lot to do with specific events going on in the US when they first arrived. They did refuse to vote for Obama although they would have voted for almost any other democrat.

I know that I vote as an American first not a Jew. That does not mean I do not support Israel. I know both conservative and liberal Jews who do the same. I’ve worked with Jews all over the political spectrum to raise money for school buses, ambulances, tree planting, and Israeli bonds for Israel.

Israel is not going to let American politics or J Street lobbying destroy it.
