Poll: GOP gains big with white voters
The Hill ^ | 07/22/11 | Cameron Joseph

Democrats' advantage over Republicans in partisan affiliation is way down from 2008 as white voters have turned against them, according to a poll released Friday by the Pew Research Center.

While minority voters continue to support Democrats in large numbers, what was just a two-point Republican edge among whites in 2008 has grown to a 13-point advantage today. Republican gains among white voters are "particularly pronounced among the young and poor," according to the report.

White voters under age 30 now break for Republicans by an 11-point margin; in 2008 they broke for Democrats by a seven-point margin. This could spell trouble for President Obama's reelection efforts, as he capitalized on a coalition of minority voters and younger white voters to become president.

Part of the calculus might be the economy: Young adults have the highest rate of unemployment of any age group.

Democrats still hold a 47-44 percent advantage in partisan affiliation, counting those who lean to one party or another, according to the poll. But because minorities tend to vote at lower rates, that slight advantage is likely not enough to translate to wins at the ballot box.

This certainly explains Obama’s behavior. He knows he’s a one-termer and hell bent on doing as much damage as he possibly can before he goes.

I look forward to the day that this margin goes to 30 points, i.e. 65-35 GOP-Dem.

It's getting there. The GOP got 60 % of the white vote last November for the first time in history. Lets get at least 60 % of all voters.

Good. Like it or not, white voters are the ones who count for the most, since they still make up the majority and vote the most.

If McCain had done even 5% better with white voters in 2008, he likely would have won.

When Democrats predictably try to 'play the race card' in 2012, it will backfire. White Guilt helped elect Obama in 2008 but that is over, no matter how many times his advocates call any opposition to him as 'racist'. Middle class whites are hurting as much as anyone else in this crappy economy and they aren't in the mood to be called names because they are disappointed with Barack Hussein Obama's performance in office. It is obvious by the garbage black 'leaders' such as that loony congresswoman from Texas, Sheila Jackson Lee, are spouting (she insinuated that Republicans are opposing Obama on the debt ceiling only because he is black) that black 'leaders' have no intention of admitting that whites are not all latent if not actual racists. Perversely, because whites made the voting difference that elected a 'black' man to the presidency, some blacks obsessed with race seem to think this was a signal to call any opposition to Obama 'racist', thus alienating the same whites who were eager to do something 'historic' and were exhibiting a definite lack of racism by voting for the unqualified Barack Hussein Obama in 2008. The loss of white support for the Democrat party is hardly surprising but still, satisfying, proving that 2008's Democrat voters are not all brain dead, after all.

It’s a GENDER gap.
No more than 40% of men support Obama. He is over 50% among women.

If the Lefties at Pew are coming up with these numbers, then it is most likely worse than what they are polling. But it is still meant to be a warning to the Dems, nonetheless.

Yes, Pew skews left, but what can they do with the warning? They are killing the historical base of their party, the Jacksonian Democrats, with their energy & environmental policies.

That's why I joked the GOP could nominate Daffy Duck on other threads. People tend to vote like their ancestors, not I, but we're talking about survival here. This party is anathema to the Jacksonian Democrats.

Thinking blacks must be disappointed that the first black president is this piece of crap.

The fine folks that I know that happen to be black also happen to dislike being deceived and lied to.

I suspect that a large percentage of blacks who previously voted for Obama are now much less motivated to vote for Mister Obama.

(The same goes for union peeps, too.)

The only demos that remain unchanged (I strongly suspect) are teachers (including professors), media ("news" and show people), and welfare rats.

Obama has just about destroyed the chances for black candidates for a long time.

Perhaps some blacks have buyer's remorse, but not nearly enough to make a real difference in the support he gets from that quarter.

GOP gains 33% among Blacks, but loses 23% among Hispanics.

That could be the headline, too.

I’ve never found anything to agree with regarding any of the crap that Pew Research Center has published.

They produce garbage like the PPP, Quinnipiac and Gallop polls do most often. Everything is weighted to the Dem or liberal side of any issue.

Mathematically speaking, since O polls 95% plus of the black vote, the percentage of blacks who are in this respect "thinking blacks" must be low.

Time to get our people into the polling places as watchers.

Yes, cities will burn. They may burn even before the election seals the loss.
