It’s a thought that’s occurred to me quite strongly; I’m still a little divided.
From reading his manifesto, it’s quite clear that he blames the “cultural Marxists” (his term) for Muslim immigration, and all that follows. To some extent, his choice of target was logical by his own perverse reasoning.
On the other hand, he did emulate a classic jihadist MO (actually, if I recall, it was pioneered by the Tamil Tigers), so maybe he was trying to create a “Helter Skelter” scenario.
It’s said, through his defense attorney, that he has plenty to say starting tomorrow at his court proceedings. Perhaps we’ll have a clearer idea of his motivation.
It helps the Muslims because it will further politically correct (if that is possible) the white europeans who may have finally been waking up about muslim immigration. Now there will be more false guilt attached. Plus it kills a bunch of white european kids. More room for the ummah.
He is deserving of being “drawn and quartered”

Well, in the US the SWAT team shows up right away but takes 45 minutes to set up its “perimeter” and all its equipment. By the time they decide to go in, its all over. This is what happened at VA Tech.
I am not one to talk, because I am the biggest wimp around, but didn’t anybody on this island think about possibly trying to stop this guy? Sneak up behind him or something? I can’t imagine all these young men waiting to be picked off like fish in a barrel. Did anyone make an effort to stop him other than the police?
Unfortunately, through his actions, he will only serve to strengthen multiculturalism. They now have a perfect cudgel to use against the right in Europe, and I have little doubt that they will do so.
Expect intensification of “hate speech laws” in Europe, and the cracking down on groups like Stop the Islamization of Europe and the English Defense League (both of which he apparently gave financial support to).
In American, I don’t see so much happening, other than perhaps guilt-by-association. A word of warning, however; he does mention the Tea Party, as the beginnings of an American resistance against the “cultural Marxist/multiculturalist” forces. Once the press picks that up (and I think they will), things will get real interesting.
I agree. Unfortunately here in Europe, and in Norway, he’s more likely to be subjected to “The Comfy Chair!” (h/t to Monty Python)
I agree that he could not have acted alone, the technical details alone make one conclude that ( see below). My theory is that he and possibly several of his cohorts were recruited and duped as a sociopath or psychopath by Islamofascist in a perfect taqquiya operation, and funded.Its a repeat of what happened in McVeigh’s case IMHO.
The true test is in who was killed. Not Muslims. Thise targeted were his very one countrymen, so the present meme does not hold up, and therfe is already a cover up in process.He was supposedly anti Islam, so why were his fellow countrymen killed? Because that is what his controllers wanted and preopared him to do, rather than attack Muslims.The same twist happened with McVeigh and company.

“The ammonium nitrate is like the engine behind the explosion, but the engine needs fuel,” Goodpaster told Life’s Little Mysteries. In fact, bombs need two components beside the fertilizer: a detonator and a fuel. The fertilizer must be mixed with a fuel in an exact ratio, and the detonator must be able to generate sufficient energy, he said.
How bombs explode
The first thing that happens during a fertilizer bomb blast is the explosion of the detonator. It contains a small amount of an explosive compound in it, and when it discharges, it creates what experts call a detonation wave. This detonation wave radiates outward from the detonator at a speed of about 2 to 3 miles per second through the mixture of ammonium nitrate and fuel, Goodpaster said.
The energy of the detonation wave causes the ammonium nitrate in the fertilizer to vaporize – the solid fertilizer becomes a gas in an instant. The ammonium and nitrate molecules break down, and a large amount of oxygen gas is suddenly formed.
The gas released from the decomposing fertilizer is what drives the explosion. The rapid release of oxygen, along with the energy from the detonation wave, ignites the fuel. When the liquid fuel ignites, it rapidly combusts, and even more gas is released.
“All that gas is generated in a very short amount of time,” Goodpaster said. “That’s what causes the pressure waves of the explosion.”
The pressure waves travel at the speed of sound, about 1,100 feet (343 meters) per second, and can damage nearby structures or even kill bystanders if the waves are strong enough, Goodpaster said. Heat is also released during the combustion, and it may be enough to set a car on fire, but most of the damage from such explosions is due to the pressure waves.
Perfect mix needed
The fertilizer and the fuel have to be combined in a just the right proportions, Goodpaster said, or else nothing will happen.
“If they’re not mixed the right way, the detonator could go off, but there will be no explosion. It would just burn,” he said.
Household fertilizer contains chemicals other than ammonium nitrate, said Steven Van Kauwenbergh, principal scientist with the International Fertilizer Development Center, a non-profit industry group. When other chemicals such as ammonium sulfate or urea are mixed in, the ammonium nitrate is no longer able to explode, he said.
Accidents involving fertilizer explosion are very rare, Van Kauwenbergh said. Perhaps the worst such accident was an explosion that occurred in Germany in 1921. Workers at a fertilizer plant were using dynamite to try to break up a large mass of solidified fertilizer that had formed and was clogging up the functioning of the plant, he said. In the ensuing explosion, at least 500 people were killed.

“Did he have two different Facebook pages, one in Norwegian and one in English, and he only identified himself as a Christian and a conservative on the English one? Or did he pause from his murder spree to add “Christian” and “conservative” to his Facebook profile? Or maybe the whole page is a fake, as has been reported here.
But in the case, who faked it, and why? Who is so anxious to portray Breivik as a Christian and conservative? And if this was faked, can we trust any of the material that is now being released about Breivik being anti-jihad?

I don't doubt that his actions don't match his words to us. But in his twisted logic, it did - if you believe in veracity of his online statements - he thought his actions did.
I think he brings up some good points, though his murderous rampage served no good purpose.
This incident will likely generate sympathy for the Muslims, as they’re one of the 2083 Manifesto’s primary targets. The European press doesn’t rely so much on neat little soundbites, so the themes in the manifesto will very likely be explored by the media here in great detail once it’s been analyzed.
I have feeling that the pendulum, which had been moving in the direction AWAY from multiculturalism, will now swing back TOWARD it. And the European right is in for some days in the wilderness after this. Who want to be associated with a mass murderer?

I wouldn't doubt that. Among other things, the idea of slaughtering the young of your enemies, along with raping the females, is a tale as old as our specie (predates us actually), and those that engage in this mentality are not evolved, but retarded. And while I am not a religious person, I have always considered the Judeo-Christian ethic to be an evolution in huamnity. Those who think they want to "devolve" humanity, are fooling themselves into believing that they would like the end result. It might be fun to imagine a world without traffic laws, but "letting he who has the largest vehicle rule the road" is folly in practice...

It’s not bad here at all. My neck of the woods is kind of a tourist trap, and fairly thick with Turks (which isn’t as bad as you’d think, as Turks tend to be fairly favorably disposed toward Americans).
God grant solace to the families. Having lost a child myself, I know that nothing will ever be the same for them.
Norway has less than 5 million people. The murder rate is quite low. 25 for the year 2006. They probably had the idea that Norway is a peaceful place and there was no need for security whatsoever. Mass murder like this only happens in America or something like that was also in their thinking.
