WASHINGTON (AFP) – President Barack Obama was to meet with his top Democratic allies in the US Congress at 6:00 pm (2200 GMT) Sunday to discuss efforts to avert a disastrous US debt default, an official said.
Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi were due at the White House with jittery world markets eyeing Washington for signs of a breakthrough, the Democratic official said.

The other day when the manchild said that Boehner did not have “control” of his caucus, it struck me as odd. Now I think I get it. oidiot thought that the results of 2010 would give him a few more bumps in the road and require a few small concessions hence his joking about a “shellacing” (sp?). He had no idea that republicans do not ride herd on their members and control them in the way that dems control their members.
I think obama honestly thought that Boehner would want to be seen by history as offering continued support to the “first black president”. Seriously, thus far in adult life no one has offered him any resistance to much of anything so why should he expect it now?
Now he sitting down to meet with people who already agree with him and childishly shutting Boehner out. It almost smacks of a cross between meeting up to relive the good old days and curling up with a security blanket.
Obama doesn’t need to meet with anyone to advert default, he simply has to spend the Tax revenue on financing the interest on the debt before moving on to financing everything else.
Obama is the only one in the world who can choose to default, nobody can make him choose not to finance the debt, not until them interest payments becomes greater then our tax revenue.
He had no idea that republicans do not ride herd on their members and control them in the way that dems control their members.
He and all the rest of the socialists cannot comprehend that we, unlike them, think for ourselves.
