Doesn’t anybody seriously see this as kind of a problem for Perry?
I’m a military veteran that had buddies die for America.
AMERICA.
Not Texas.
AMERICA.
If Perry had been able to get Texas to secede from the Union, did those Texas military service members who sacrificed their lives for America, die in vain?
Obviously I’m not from Texas, but like I said earlier, the Tea Party I belong to is about AMERICA, not TEXAS.
If this Texas meme is something that he’s going to run on, then he’s got a problem with many Tea Party voters.
God Bless AMERICA!
See Post 15.
He did NOT say that.
They didn’t die for America. They died for freedom. A big difference
You have a wild imagination!
And what is “America”? Just some contiguous real estate? I thought soldiers and others swore to uphold and defend the Constitution and the principles it embodies. Now go read the Declaration.
As for me, I don’t care to be part of a Stalinist, Gramscian, or any other form of unconstitutional “America”. I don’t believe that your buddies died so that their descendents could live under Sharia in a welfare state, for example. Of course, I could be wrong.
You do realize that Mr. Perry was a pilot in the United States Air Force, yes?
See Post 113.
All I see, JohnBrownUSA, is that you are a newbie that has been at Free Republic for only 3 months that sounds just like a Democrat Underground troll would sound if they were trying to impersonate a conservative.
1.) Claim I am a veteran
2.) Claim I am disabled.
3.) Repeatedly write "AMERICA" in all caps.
4.) Throw in something about "I had buddies die for America".
4.) Throw in "God Bless AMERICA!"
5.) Mention "Tea Party" every single chance I get and then mention it again.
Is there not a single stereotype that you missed, JohnBrownUSA?
Then on another thread, you say that if, given the choice between Barack Hussein Obama and Rick Perry in the general election, you would throw away your vote and help Marxist Obama get reelected by "writing in Sarah Palin" so that you could "stand on principle" and the "feel good".
"Feel good"?
You actually believe that you can encourage true conservatives to follow yor agitprop advice and help you get Barack Obama reelected by You then take every chance you get to undermine the one candidate whose executive experience dwarfs all others in the GOP field and has the best chance of defeating Obama.
Some Freepers join Democratic Underground, pretending to be liberals, in order to trash Obama and turn liberal against Obama.
To me, JohnBrownUSA, you sound like a Democratic Underground liberal, pretending (in a manner that is waaay over the top) to be Tea Party conservative in order to trash the GOP's most likely to get elected candidate so that you can help Barack Obama get reelected.
I am from Texas and I am a verteran. I could think of worse outcomes than leaving the union.
