Gingrich regrets 2008 climate ad with Pelosi (I bet he does)

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) said Tuesday that he regrets making a commercial with then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on the need to address climate change.

Gingrich, who partnered with Pelosi while she was Speaker for the 2008 ad, said the spot was "misconstrued," and for that reason, he wouldn't do it again.

"I was trying to make a point that we shouldn't be afraid to debate the left, even on the environment," Gingrich said on WGIR radio of the 30-second television commercial. "Obviously it was misconstrued, and it's probably one of those things I wouldn't do again."

That commercial has caused some difficulties for Gingrich in the Republican presidential primary. Pelosi is one of the most polarizing figures for primary voters, and the appearance of wanting to partner with such a political bogeyman has arguably hurt Gingrich with GOP voters.

Gingrich said in January that he "meant exactly what [he] said in that commercial," which was produced by the Alliance for Climate Protection, a nonprofit organization founded by former Vice President Al Gore (D). In the ad, Gingrich makes no endorsement of any policy solution, but says the "country must take action to address climate change."

But Gingrich has also made some environmental issues a part of his presidential campaign, calling for the elimination of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and its replacement with an agency dedicated to energy creation.

There are many issues that I have with Newt, but this commercial that he made with Stretch sure sealed the deal with me. I will never forgive Newt for that commercial!

I would like to see Gingrich unseat Bill OReily.
Other than that, he can take a hike.

I’m sure Nancy’s people peed themselves in unbridled joy when Newt shot that ad.

re: “Obviously it was misconstrued, and it’s probably one of those things I wouldn’t do again.”

So, the problem is that we listened to what Newt said, but we were too stupid to understand what he really meant. We misconstrued his support for the global warming hoax to mean that he actually supports the hoax. And he “probably” wouldn’t do it again now that he wants to run for president.

Newt’s enormous ego won’t even allow him to fully admit his mistake. Rather than say: “It was wrong. I was trying to get attention at any price.” Newt says he was “misconstrued” and it was “out of context”.

I’m so sick of weasels like that. Famous people that whine about context rather than standing tall and taking their lumps. Newt, I wouldn’t vote for you for dog catcher, you have no character.

Newt had the ‘dark science’ vote counting skills to engineer the 1994 GOP take over of the House of Representatives for the first time in 50 years and for that he should be commended. But like many geniuses he doesn’t have one whit of common sense. He’s done.

“misconstrued,”

He’s still not owning up to it. This is an insult even to a moron.

Just like we misconstrued when we thought he was trying to kill the Ryan Plan. We're just too stupid for Newt, we don't deserve his leadership. < /sarc>

We misconstrued his support for the global warming hoax to mean that he actually supports the hoax.

It is a HOAX. The Hockey Stick Graph was a Hoax. The Sea levels rising was a HOAX. The Deforestation of the Amazon was a Hoax. The predicted number of Hurricanes to Hit America was an EPIC FAIL.

Envirogate Email scandal should have put this hoax to bed, but there are too many Politicians that hooked their bandwagon up to this SHAM.

I'm sorry to see that Newt was one.
