A senior judge has been arrested on rape charges after his alleged victim secretly filmed him carrying out the attack.
Judge Albert Murdoch was also allegedly caught on the hidden tape boasting that he was above the law and would use his police contacts to make any charges go away.
His arrest has led to authorities in New Mexico to look into many of the cases he presided over during a 25-year career.
Murdoch, a 59-year-old criminal judge for the Second Judicial District Court in Bernalillo County in Albuquerque, was arrested on rape charges based on the hidden tape.
Police said a prostitute hired on at least eight occasions by Murdoch set up the camera when she visited his home

The moral of the story is don't play act rape with a prostitute, particularly when you are a judge who presides over criminal trials. However, if you do chose to play act rape with a prostitute, then try to refrain from boasting about how you can use your contacts with the police to get out of a rape charge.

A prostitute secretly videotaping a judge sounds like blackmail to me.
The rationale, that he’d become abusive during the course of past, presumably paid transactions does not hold up to scrutiny, since she could have declined.
But, she didn’t decline, she returned to videotape their eighth presumably paid transaction.
Not that the judge isn’t guilty as sin himself. There certainly aren’t any role models between the two of them.

I am no fan of Judge Murdoch, as he railroaded a former marine in a case of clear self defense. However, the judge is about 4’ 2” and can barely get around on crutches or with a walker. I think he was set up, and based on people who have seen the video, this was some nasty “role playing” rather than rape. Based on his physical condition, any moderately healthy woman could kick his handicapped butt halfway to the Rio Grande.
This stinks, I don’t know where it is going, but I suspect it’s an extortion attempt gone bad. All the same, I’m glad he’s off the bench.

In the “Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”, she did the same thing with a rapist judicial perp. But what she did to the perp later was not what he expected, and it was not nice for him, but I still enjoyed watching him get his.

Nonsense. Prostitutes can be raped. If the prostitute says no, you must stop. Prostitutes are victims of brutalization and rape. Payment for sexual services does not mean that the prostitute foregoes consent. There are many different kinds of sex acts that a prostitute may not allow. I do not know the details of this case. She may have strong evidence with the recording.
You pay for her to leave. The sex is consentual.

Considering I don’t do something like hire prostitutes, I don’t know the legal details of it all.
But, if you pay for the sex, shouldn’t that count as consent?
Even if she changes her mind later, she was paid for it.
Were there some earlier allegations against this guy related to porn on his computer, or something like that? The name sounds familiar; I just don't recall for certain.
You know the old joke comparing sex and golf, and the importance of getting the course owner's permission before attempting to "play the back nine"?
The same etiquette would likely apply here; I doubt if it's a "pay one price" ticket to ride all the attractions. Yeah, I know... I'm mixing metaphors.

We had a JUDGE here in NKY who had many prostitutes.
One of them hooked up with a “minority person” one evening and just for sh@ts and Giggles tortured,raped and murdered a young mother they kidnapped on here way home from work.
The Esteemed and honorable ROYAL HIGNESS HIS HONOR THE JUDGE, did not preside in that CAPITAL MURDER CASE but he was screw@ng his prostitute in his chambers during the trial.
The minority person involved got the death sentence and his prostitute got a few years.
