SEEMS TO ME THEY DON’T HAVE MUCH TO DO WITH ALCOHOL OR TOBACCO, JUST FIREARMS.......Since 'good ole boy' moonshiners, and 'untaxed cigarette' mobsters had a depressing tendency to register their displeasure at the ATF by shooting back, over the decades, the ATF went the 'safer' route. The anti 2d Amendment atmosphere of academia and upper gooberment management didn't hurt, either...
