Jackson Lee accused of bias? Astonishing
The Houston Chronicle ^ | July 26, 2011, 11:47PM | LISA FALKENBERG

Over the years, many of us have followed with mild amusement the tales of purported misbehavior of the not-so-gentlewoman from Texas, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.

She's been ranked the "meanest" member of the U.S. House by Washingtonian Magazine. A Daily Caller exposé earlier this year suggested she's the worst boss in Washington. A recent Houston Chronicle analysis showed her office has the highest turnover, by far, in the Houston congressional delegation. She goes through chiefs of staff the way some people go through sneakers: 11 since 2000.

Pitiful testimonials from former staffers reported over the years, including by my colleague Rick Casey, describe a controlling perfectionist with a Queen complex who uses staffers as a personal valet, having male aides hold her handbag, making drivers wait for hours at the curb, and calling staffers at all hours, sometimes apparently just to make sure they'll answer their government-paid phone.

She's reportedly fond of humiliating and bullying staffers into compliance with her high standards, launching into profane tirades that sometimes turn intensely personal. Casey once interviewed an aide who said Jackson Lee told him he was so stupid his son should be embarrassed to have him as a father.

Now, it should be said: Jackson Lee is a favorite target of unfair attacks seemingly motivated more by racism and sexism than merit.

The offending traits staffers attribute to her describe plenty of pushy, demanding political bosses on Capitol Hill. The anonymous nature of many accounts do raise questions of their validity. And although the behaviors they describe seem unprofessional, they've never seemed to cross the line into illegality.

Discrimination claim Until now. The latest mistreatment complaint against Jackson Lee takes things to a whole new level.

I know all about her “Mars story”.

Her disease is unique to herself and she’s unaware of it because she’s too close to it.

You are quite fair. At what point does she reach a self diagnosis?

She needs an appointment as Amabassador to Mars. (You need to know her Mars story)

Maybe she can find the flag that the Rover couldn't find!

As good a place as any to add this:

Furthermore

Historically challenged Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, recently made the preposterous declaration that congressional Republicans disagree with President Obama in the debt-ceiling debate because of racism. “Only this president — only this one — only this one has received the kind of attacks and disagreements and inability to work. Only this one. Read between the lines,” she said during a recent speech on the House floor.

The question that should be put to Rep. Jackson Lee is, “Where were you when George W. Bush was president?” After all, Mr. Bush was regularly compared with Adolf Hitler and called a bigger terrorist than Osama bin Laden, had his legitimacy questioned (often by the radical Congressional Black Caucus, of which Rep. Jackson Lee is a member) and subjected to boos at Mr. Obama’s inauguration, among other things.

Sounds like Rep. Jackson Lee is in need of a history lesson.

Could ANYONE, with brain power above brainstem, work for THIS absolute and total, certifiable lunatic? She’s dumber than a bag of rocks and ugly in every way imaginable. Every time she opens her big, stupid mouth, those who work for her HAVE to be embarrassed. I wouldn’t even admit it if I worked for this pile of dreck.

Jackson Lee is a favorite target of unfair attacks

No need for unfair attacks. Her mouth and behavior brings enough on by themselves.

Many of our Presidents were subjected to far worse vilification than has been directed at Obama, starting with George Washington. In the old days the newspapers were openly partisan and printed all kinds of scurrilous charges--so Presidents were subjected to vicious attacks from the opposition press. Obama doesn't face that since the media today is almost entirely on his side--the criticisms are on talk radio or the internet or on homemade signs.

Jackson Lee may be ignorant of history and the space program (she's the one who thought astronauts had been to Mars), but she must be brilliant since she received a law degree from the University of Virginia Law School. (If I was involved in recruitment for the UVA Law School, I don't think I would mention that to prospective students.) At least her name is a reminder of two great Virginians, Stonewall Jackson and Robert E. Lee.

I would expect that for a Chief Counsel “reading” would be a bonified job qualification much as the ability to lift a certain amount of weight is for a firefighter. Now working someone from 7AM to 11PM is, shall we say, demanding. I'm not sure what if any law applies to a Congresswoman's office since they usually exempt themselves from the laws they pass for us peons. The word has been out on SJL for a long time. Anyone who wants to work for her has to know it's going to suck. So why is anyone still working for her? Is the pay that good? If Eric Cantor asked staffers to pull an all nighter to get a budget bill finished would this be abuse? I wouldn't vote for or work for this POS but apparently their are plenty of people who would do one or both. Still it's going to be fun listening to Queen Sheila ‘splain this one.

The worst thing is that she is the perfect Representative for her district, who are all just as stupid as she is.

“but she must be brilliant since she received a law degree from the University of Virginia Law School.”

Obama is a lawyer too isn’t he?

Here’s another brilliant lawyer, congressman Hank Johnson, on the dangers of the island of Guam “tipping over” if we put any more Marines on it:
