The citizen was walking with open carry and not threatening or violating any law.

Wrong. I believe the police were called about the person causing some sort of disturbance. Most states have Disorderly Conduct statutes, while in my state it is a misdemeanor, however if we get a call about someone causing alarm and possibly provoking a breach of the peace it has to be investigated. Just like a report of any other crime has to be investigated.

The officer was doing nothing more than investigating a possible crime. If you have a problem with even that exchange then I suggest you move to a different country. It was blatantly obvious from the video that the person was doing his best to be an a$$hole to get or force a rise out of the officer. These characters, with an agenda, who film these videos often do it by approaching police officers that are busy with other things like traffic stops. That's not a very smart thing to do BTW. Fortunately for the a$$hole he encountered an officer with a lot of patience.

1. What possible crime? Do you know something we don’t?
2. My country respects laws and PROTECTS the rights of individuals from police harassment and intimidation.
3. You seem to be the one verbalizing anti-Constitutional sentiments, and it is an irony that you demand that patriots to ‘leave the country’!

In some neighborhoods, a black man walking down the street and minding his own business would cause alarm and possibly provoke a breach of the peace. Would the officer still be obligated to confront that individual?

"Florida v. J.L., 529 U.S. 266 (2000), held that a police officer may not legally stop and frisk anyone based solely on an anonymous tip that simply described that person's location and what he or she might look like but that did not furnish information as to any illegal conduct that the person might be planning."

Yep, he was trolling for an encounter.........No ID (who walks around without their wallet) wouldn't give his name, but did have a video camera handy.

I believe the police were called about the person causing some sort of disturbance. Neither the video nor the article state that, so where did you get that info from?

I didn't see that at all. BTW I thought the officer was great.

What evidence was there of a “disturbance”? A citizen peacefully going about his business? The person creating the disturbance was the person calling 911 at the sight of a citizen carrying a firearm.

And why do you bring up the hypothetical of an armed citizen approaching an officer in the middle of a traffic stop? What does that have to do with the situation here? That is not what happened in this case, as far as I know.
