Do you have the same opinion about the Penney Plan? Is there any proposal already put forth by any legislator that you would endorse? or did you already answer my questions in your last post, which I missed before I posted?

Question is: is anybody interested in living in a country where the government lives within its means?

I'm allied with good patriotic regular folks in all fifty states, and every one of them is very much interested in that. And every one of them has stalwartly opposed ANY raising of the debt ceiling.

The RSC tendered the Penney plan as a sort of “part two” to “cut, cap and balance,” which they all supported, and which would have raised the debt ceiling $2.4 TRILLION.

So, I really don’t care about it. As far as I’m concerned, it’s just more useless tinkering with a blown engine.

Last question. Would you support an immediate real dollar cut for a dollar raise in the debt ceiling?

No.

If the cuts were real, there would be no need for any rise in the debt ceiling.

Cut every program or agency that is not explicitly within the Enumerated Powers. The budget will balance.

I’ll repeat what I’ve been saying since January:

Every single vote to contract debt that our generation cannot possibly pay is a vote for the enslavement of our grandchildren. It is the stripping of our posterity’s God-given right to self-government by consent.

A yes vote to raise the debt ceiling is an unmistakable signal to already-overburdened Americans that all the campaign rhetoric about fiscal restraint was merely empty talk.

I urge every member of Congress to instead move quickly to cut spending, beginning with the vast number of programs and agencies that are not among the Enumerated Powers contained in our Constitution, which they swore to faithfully support and defend. We the People must demand that they keep their word and fulfill the ultimate stated purpose of that precious document by securing the Blessings of Liberty to Posterity.

“beginning with the vast number of programs and agencies that are not among the Enumerated Powers contained in our Constitution,”

Don’t even see much talk of that on FR, but in discussions with friends and some family members, we remark that that is one humongous elephant in the room every public servant refuses to acknowledge, and though we roar on FR, it isn’t mentioned often in connection with this debt deal.

The one thing that is most intuitively obvious-— slash programs and agencies that over-reach Constitutional boundaries. If Obama has inadvertently served any good purpose, it should be that realization.

BTW, I run into your posts frequently, but tonight I looked up your page to read your thinking. It has made an impression. Thank you.

I don’t see any possible way to win this.

From my perspective a win would be:

Cuts equal to or greater than the cap increase. No new taxes. Obama and the Dems still own the economy and their deficits. This debate frames the 2012 election.

McConnell is brokering a Reid/Boner compromise"

Might as well say the RINO leaders are caving. Stand pat Tea Party Patriots. Force them to make a choice: stand with us or be a trader. Next election cycle will not forget.

The RINO’s are retreating to their typical crunch time strategy - surrender and invoke personal attacks on conservatives for not doing likewise. They do not understand the Freshman class or the Tea Party. These good people were elected precisely because they promised not to go along with the typical Washington BS, which created this fiscal disaster. I believe the personal epithets from the RINO’s and the establishment “conservative” commentators; McCain, Krauthamer, Charen, etc., will just strengthen the resolve of the Freshman House members. These are not just a bunch of young, green politicos. Most have substantial backgrounds in business or local/state politics and fully understand the stakes. I hope beyond hope that they will stand firm and shake the Washington establishment to its core.

Heres an analogy. Imagine you live in your house and its shared with a bunch of filthy people, they leave food all over the floor (welfare, food stamps, section8 etc_, dont close the door when they are outside. The long and short of it us eventually you get vermin in your house (see the illegal immigrants), eventually these mice start multiplying taking over and eventually your house will become condemned, un livable.

Sarah Palin reined Boehner in with a single face book post and an identical e-mail to House Conservatives.

Now we see whenether we will have a 3rd party or not. Many will know by the end of Friday. All of us will by Monday.

Sarah may declare her candidacy next week as an Independant dakini. And she will win.

Obamawan Renobi , IOTUS , (Ideologue of the United States), wants a United States of Zimbabwe for his birthday. Instead he will receive a circumcision, courtesy of Israeli supporting House Conservatives. And may the delivering hand be considerably unsteady.

Oh, I’m not scared...I trust in the Lord — not the Tea party or the Republican party. Good day. (and I’m not a fella)

I was just joking around a bit. No offense was intended.

RE :”MrChips, a cave will guarantee obama’s re-election. Stand back and watch. That’s why principle is all there is to fight for.

Are you considering this current Boehner bill ( that all Democrats have sworn to defeat that is in trouble now) 'the cave' you reference?? What happens if standing in ‘principle’ results in much worse results? In other words, what if Boehner’s failure on this bill leads to a much more humiliating 'cave in' bill to Democrats signed into law on this? Does that matter or is just making the point that matters?

It has happened before. I saw it. But I dont have a crystal ball either.

You are right. Friday morning now . . . Time Magazine is already running “The Weak Speaker” and talking about how suddenly emboldened the Democrats are. Of course it helps the Dems. Now, and in 2012. We have just weakened our hand . . . . although the final vote has not come yet.
