Naked homeowner fends off would-be car prowler

SEATTLE -- Randall Dykstra is a hard-working landscaper who believes very strongly in his right to stand-up for himself.

A would-be robber just found that out the hard way.

Dykstra awoke Monday morning in his North Seattle home to some rustling sounds.

"I thought it was the cat -- and I realized after a few moments it was not the cat at all," he said.

What he heard was his heavy landscaping tools being dragged across the bed of his truck.

"So I opened the door as quietly as possible and from this viewpoint I noticed that the back panels of my truck were on the ground," Dystra said.

He says he jumped off the porch and yelled at the man, but then a fight ensued.

"He decided to come down out of the back of my truck on top of me and so we wrestled about and then the altercation went to the street where I threw him down on the asphalt," Dykstra said. "And Elisa, my girlfriend, came out with the baseball bat and I had him in a choke hold and she started beating him with the bat."

Oh, did we mention Dystra and his girlfriend were completely nude?

"Yes, naked," he said. "In the middle of the street."

And the entire episode was caught on camera. Dykstra has an elaborate security system because someone broke into his house awhile back. He says his girlfriend hit the guy in the legs a few times because he kept trying to get away, but Dykstra wasn't going to let that happen.

Yep, in these politically correct times we live in, the criminal has a legal case against someone defending their own property.

Why is the thief’s name not reported ? Could it be he is an illegal alien, and Seattle news is willing to report a funny story but not give any info about the criminal ? I suspect if the criminal booked was named John Smith, Seattle news would report the name as a matter of course.
