A man bound for Nigeria with a stomach full of cocaine was intercepted by authorities at an Orlando airport this month, federal authorities say.

According to a criminal complaint, 54-year-old Barratt Kalu Eni tried to pass through Orlando International Airport with almost a kilogram of cocaine in his body on July 9.

He'd flown from Houston to Orlando and was en-route to London when agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation confronted him.

That dude is lucky to be alive. 2.2 pounds of cocaine in your gut? Amazing he is still with us.

Ooooog! I remember the 1992 New Yorker article about Orlando Tobon, a travel agent in Jackson Heights, NYC (”The Mayor of Little Columbia”) who first attracted notice when he took upon himself to raise money to organize an informal service to repatriate the bodies of fellow Colombians flying as drug mules whose cocaine pellets ruptured in transit.

Apparently when that happens a hideous agonizing death is the result as the stuff dissolves their guts.

Yes, he was really lucky the DEA agents wouldn’t give up. He probably would have died and the Nigerian drug lords would have happily cut open his corpse to get any cocaine still in the little baggies.
