Attacks in China's Xinjiang, 13 dead
In China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Saturday night, two men brandishing knives attacked passers-by, killing 6 people. At least 6 others were killed in explosions that occurred near the area just before the incident.
China's state-run Xinhua news agency says the 2 men jumped into a truck in Kashgar city. Then they drove into a crowd of people.
The pair stabbed 6 people to death. One of the attackers died while being captured.
Xinhua says that about an hour before the attack, 2 explosions occurred near the scene, one from a minivan, which killed at least 6 people.
The state-run news agency and local police haven't reported the motives or any other details of the 2 incidents. A person who was at the scene said the knife-wielding pair were from the minority Uygurs.
Two weeks ago, on July 18th, a group of Uygurs attacked a police station in the city of Hotan, 500 kilometers east of Kashgar.
Observers say that strong discontent by the Uygurs over the economic disparity with the majority Han population is a source of these attacks.

What ever happened to the Uighurs Obama paid Bermuda $50 million to take, so he could release them from Guantanamo?
Gotta wonder how the four former guantanamo Uyghurs are doing in Bermuda since their release in 2009?
The Chinese (Han) government is trying to wipe out regional and cultural diversity by importing large numbers of Chinese into areas under their control, like Tibet and Xinjiang. They deliberately want to drown the indigenous populations in Chinese.
"Uighur women give birth to Uighurs, while trains do to Chinese."
I am not 100% sure about how it came about, but the saying is apt.
