Phone your House representatives and tell them they must not support this travesty.

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can't pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies...

Increasing America's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that “the buck stops here.” Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”

- Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL), March 20, 2006

If we want to save the counry, we have to win the White House and Senate next year. Until then, we have to cut the best deal we can.

Unless your rep is a Dem, tell them to support it- and their president!

It’s not the worse bill they could have given us, but it would be great for the Tea Party if there are just Dem and RINO votes for this.

Two years from now on July 31, 2013, I predict the GDP to debt ratio will be at least 120% – approaching Greek level.

As long as base-line budgeting is used it is a bad deal based on the false assumption the economy is always increasing.

I’m sure I’ll get my underwear torched for saying this... but what do those who are screaming “NO DEAL!” expect? We made great progress in 2010, but the reality is, folks, we don’t have enough influence or control yet to implement the change we need. To be honest with you, I have greater fear over a collapse of our system and the immediate power grab that Zero would implement than I do over making some progress in this battle like we have while keeping the issues in front of the public.

So we call our leaders — tell them “NO”. They comply. The deal falls apart. Are you REALLY welcoming what might follow in the wake?? The reality is Zero and Harry are NEVER EVER EVER going to give us what we really want. The key comes next November...

Did you forget what forum you are posting to?

Contrary to what you must think, the members of this site do not arrive here every day riding on the short bus.

>> There is NO debt deal yet

But they’re trying to box-in the House TEA members with the implying threat TEA will be responsible for the debt crisis.

Obama seeks the PR high ground.

No one in the media will question Obama's assertion that a "deal" has been agreed upon. If it fails at this point, it will be easy to blame those unreasonable Teabagging extremists for reneging on their end of the "deal".

Actually voting on legislation is so last-century anyway, better to "deem" the legislation completed and hog all the credit in advance. If it doesn't actually happen, it's the other party's fault.

It can’t pass. Government spending increases at 8% per year, GDP is between 0% and 3% per year. NOT SUSTAINABLE!!!!

This really pisses me off!

Let's play a game. Let's get ALL the Republicans to go out and say how much they don't know if they can vote for a bill that is so much in favor of the DemocRat party and will not help the Republican party at all. Then don't vote 1/2 of the Republican votes. SUDDENLY, the Rats own the bill. Do the same thing in the Senate. Now they own the whole thing!! Wham!! They get blamed for the downgrade and we rob Obama the satisfaction and political advantage of blaming the Republicans.

Even better! Even better. Instead of not voting, vote present. Squeeze the Islamic Socialist until it kills his whole Ramadan holiday on Martha's vineyard.
