With beads of glass, wood and pearl dangling at their sides and wrapped around their wrists, they began to walk.
More than 300 people formed a procession Sunday evening from Mother Seton Catholic Church in Germantown to an abortion clinic a half mile away. As they walked, they prayed in unison for unborn babies, their mothers and the man who has been providing late-term abortions in Montgomery County.
"We want to give voice to the unborn," said David Gallogly of Germantown.
"To touch the hearts of those who feel they have no other choice than to choose death," said his wife, Bea Gallogly.
The rosary walk was part of the nine-day Summer of Mercy 2.0 event targeting Dr. LeRoy Carhart, whose practice of providing late-term abortions became the focus of a national debate when he joined Germantown Reproductive Health Services in December 2010.
