“That overwhelming response to her ordeal could trigger a sympathy vote.”

Yes,I agree. She will also be portrayed as being a “fighter.” There is truth to that, it’s too bad she’s a flaming liberal. It will be hard to critcize Giffords for anything due to the sympathy for all she’s been through.
People do love a come-back story as well. The media will fall all over themselves portraying her AND 0bama as “come-back kids.” I’ll bet 0bama’s minions are already looking at internal polls with the two of them as candidates. Maybe I need a tin foil hat but I think she could be his ticket to 4 more years.

Assuming she runs for re-election, I’m hoping that the good people of Arizona will do the humane thing and vote this brain-injured woman out of office. Seriously, does a person in her condition need the stress and demands of public office? Can she even speak or read or meet with her constituents, which are requirements of her job? I’m glad she’s alive and wish her the best, but she didn’t look back-to-normal in the video. She needs rest and therapy and a stress-free lifestyle for now. She should forget politics and focus on her health and getting her life back.

It’s scary from a political view, as well as a spiritual one.
