Illegal immigrants decline in some California counties
LA Times ^ | 8/2/11 | Alana Semuels

Despite concerns about illegal immigrants in the California labor market, a new report shows that their number has declined in the most heavily populated areas in California during the last decade.

The population of illegal immigrants in Los Angeles County fell by 8,000 between 2001 and 2008, according to a new report from the Public Policy Institute of California, which uses the term "unauthorized immigrants." In Orange County, the population of illegal immigrants fell by 60,000. And in Santa Clara County, it fell by 61,000.

"After many years of increases, the number of California's unauthorized immigrants has remained stable or even declined slightly recently," says the report, written by Laura E. Hill and Hans P. Johnson. "At the same time, the number living in other states has increased substantially compared to California."

States such as Mississippi, Alabama and South Carolina have seen significant increases in their illegal immigrant population, as California's stays stagnant or even shrinks.

The report tracks illegal immigrants by ITIN filings, which are federal tax filings for people without Social Security numbers. Economists estimate that about 80% of illegal immigrants have filed federal tax returns.

I call “BS”.

My buddy is an LA Unified School District teacher, and he says that his classes are bigger than ever because of all of the illegal’s children...

“....the number living in other states has increased substantially compared to California.”

They have just moved out of the poorer areas of California to take better jobs all over the country, along with millions of others.

... a new report from the Public Policy Institute of California...

After seeing who wrote the alleged "report", one might reasonably suspect that this is cover-to-cover, premeditated fiction.

One person could have multiple ITIN numbers. You don’t have to pay income tax to get an ITIN number. You file a phony tax return showing very low income and you get an ITIN number. The numbers have been used to facilitate fraud. Nobody knows how many illegal aliens are in this country or who they are. California is probably exporting illegal aliens to other states. The anchor babies can stay in California with their mothers and continue to collect taxpayer funded handouts.

Just goes to show that the only comprehensive reform required should be based on “show me the money”. When the the money goes, so do the illegals. The dream part of the Dream Act is that most of these people really care to be U.S. citizens.

The ITIN is what illegals use to get home loans when they haven’t yet stolen an SSAN.

Of course some of them are leaving L.A.! As one was recently quoted, “It’s too much like Mexico here.” They’ve ruined L.A. and are now on their way to destroying the rest of the country. Enjoy the wonderful, vibrant diversity coming your way, y’all!

I live in a nice, relatively uninfected area of the SC Valley but know its just a matter of time before the local illegal population realizes theres an area close by they haven’t crapped up yet.

Mine too. Right across my Home Depot is OSH, and they don’t have any illegals on their property. I have to ask OSH what the heck they’ve been doing right.
