Assemblyman's Proposal States If You Don't Comply You Can't Go To School

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) With drug abuse on the rise, should parents be required by law to test their children? One Long Island lawmaker says yes.
Assemblyman Joseph Saladino (R-Massapequa) has introduced a bill that would require parents of high school students to give their children annual drug tests.
If they dont do it, the student would not be allowed into school, Saladino told CBS 2′s Jennifer McLogan.
The proposal would mandate that parents administer the test and sign a statement swearing it was performed. The results wouldnt be disclosed not even to the school.
Ninth, 10th, 11th and 12th grades the parent has to sign a form that is handed into the school district that states they have conducted a drug test on their child, and that they have seen the results, said Saladino, who later added its up to the parents to decide what to do with the results.
Saladino said the drug test would help parents find out if there is a problem and whether treatment should be sought.

Every Politician Elected to ANY office in the land be Drug Tested twice a year -- and -- (you'll love this one Joe) be given a Breathalyzer test EACH DAY before 'work' (or whatever you people call it).Yes, I realize this will have an economic impact. Every Lounge, Bar or Liquor Store near a gubmint building will lose money as most of you politicians are stark raving mad DRUNKS! (see; Kennedy Family)

This is the beginning of boiling the frog. First they propose that the parents do the test and NOT disclose the results to the school. Next, they will propose that the school perform the test and give the results to the parents. If a parent truly worries that their child is taking drugs, there are over the counter drug tests at CVS and Rite Aid. Personally, I don’t have a fear thus far. Not one worry in the world.
People like this guy are the main reason I will not join, or even donate money to, the republican party.

Yep, I sure did give the test as required by law. I wrote on a piece of paper, Are you Using Drugs? Check Yes or No. My child checked No. So he has been Drug Tested. I shall sign the statement and swear it was performed with a clean conscience.
Public schools=public money=other peoples tax money

You don’ think the teachers would submit to such an intrusion, do you? When my son was in middle school, one teacher showed up to class on numerous occasions “drunk as a skunk”. A substitute that my son had for honors science actually took pills from a prescription orange tube (the ones you get from pharmacies) till she passed out.
Teachers first is right! However, i have drug tested my kids, more often than once a year. i have two teen-agers [16 & 17] and they have been told the condition for retaining the right to drive my car they have to take a drug test anytime i want to give them one. Get used to it, that is how there life will be is what I tell them. We have drug test kits in the frdige in the kitchen. Their friends know it and we have told them that if they feel any peer pressure they can tell their friends, “look, my parents drug test me!”

Legislatures (state and federal) can be part-time jobs with 1/10th pay, NO retirement, NO perks, NO insurance. These POS politicians can get a job doing something productive not "progressive" (like enriching themselves at our expense, while they are enslaving us, our children and grandchildren).
