Israel's leftists get money for being that way, says one of them in rare confession.
Are Israel's leftists pure ideologues or guns for hire? Yotam Feldman, who was born into the leftist camp his father is liberal lawyer Avigdor Feldman believes the latter. In a Hebrew language post at the "Eretz HaEmori" blog, Feldman says that in his life, he has witnessed how Israel's "human rights movement" became a source of income for its activists. He relates how his father's old Subaru "gradually turned" into a BMW, and how the family moved from a rented apartment in Yafo to a spacious Tel Aviv apartment.
"When it came time to provide for myself, I also turned to fields that were somehow connected to the state of democracy in Israel," Feldman writes. These fields "gave me an interesting vocation and a salary that was not bad. Then I began to understand that there is something irreversible about belonging to this community. It seemed to me that whoever tied his fate whether because of family lineage or a private decision with the fate of the NGOs in Israel, guaranteed himself a livelihood
for most of his adult life."

Much like the American left. Leftism is simply a feel-good disguise for people who want to seize other people’s money for themselves.
ping
What ever happened to “defunding” the left? It seems that all these leftist organizations and the unions are supported by our tax dollars.
It pays to be on the left. Just ask Keith Olbermann or any government or union employee. It’s not their hearts and mind that the left seizes and controls but the pocketbook — control the pocketbook and the heart and mind will follow.
Zillions of the programs of ICE, HEW and HUD provide “grants” or direct funding to “Immigrant”, “Housing”, Health Care”, “Child Care”, “Jobs”, “Education” not-for-profit organizations that (1)provide “jobs” to “Immigrant”, “Housing”, Health Care”, “Child Care”, “Jobs”, “Education” policy advocates (2) who use the federal funds to defer the costs being spent on policy/political advocacy.
Policy advocates for what? For “Immigrants”, “Housing”, Health Care”, “Child Care”, “Jobs”, “Education”??
No. Policy advocates in the defense of policies that support the institutional framework and survival of “Immigrant”, “Housing”, Health Care”, “Child Care”, “Jobs”, “Education” policy/political advocacy organizations.
No place in the world is the Liberal-Progressive-Left better funded by the national government than in the United States.
thanks.
“Leftism is simply a feel-good disguise for people who want to seize other peoples money for themselves.”
Yes and no. This is true, but this argument will not hit a leftist between the eyes, as it is more of an accusation that they will deny. If you want to make this argument unbearable to a leftist, tailor it to be scientifically substantiated and inarguable in light of established scientific facts.
Leftism is an evolutionary strategy which one can see in many other species in nature. For simplicity, I have found simply pointing out the similarities of political ideology to r/K Selection theory does the trick. Simple, scientific, and inarguable. It drives Liberals wild, by showing where they came from dispassionately, and inarguably.
Make this argument to a leftist. Make it simple, repeat the core ideas when challenged, and watch how they melt.
r-selection prodcues an absence of competitiveness, promicuity, and low investment, single parent childrearing. Leftists hate competitions from war to Capitalism, embrace promiscuity, and welcome single parenting.
K-selection favors competitiveness, abstinence until monogamy, and high investment two parent child-rearing. Conservatism embraces competitiveness, abstinence until monogamy, and two parent, high investment childrearing with “Family Values” and decency in culture.
