America's debt downgrade is a damning indictment of President Obama's Big Government disaster
The Telegraph ^ | Aug 6, 2011 | Nile Gardiner

The decision by credit agency Standard and Poor’s to downgrade America’s AAA credit rating for the first time in 70 years is a massive blow to the credibility of the Obama administration, and a damning indictment of its handling of the economy. No doubt the White House will pathetically try to blame the Bush Administration, Republicans in Congress, and of course its favourite target, the Tea Party, for the move by S&P.

But without a shadow of a doubt, responsibility for the country’s financial mess and staggering levels of debt lie with the current US president and his administration. They have been in charge of running the economy for over 30 months, during which time the United States has witnessed an unprecedented increase in government spending and borrowing.

Obama is the one who made the debt and deficit soar by a huge increase in spending.

The Obama Downgrade The real reason the U.S. could lose its AAA rating.

So my use of the term “Strong Leader” is somehow morphed into a “dictator”?

Ronald Wilson Reagan is my definition of a “Strong Leader”.

You need to get off the porch.

There is a difference between a “strong leader” and a dictator. “eyedigress” meant a strong conservative leader to reverse the marxist changes Obama is making to the country. Why are you deliberately misinterpreting this?

Check out the 2000 to 2008 climb. Of course it’s nothing like Obama’s.

“No way in hell they get a chance to move away from him. They own him, they gave him to use. Time for them to eat their peas.”

I suspect that while they are still carrying his water the MSM are desperately looking around for a new savior. They can’t give up this flawed, damaged savior until they have a bigger, brighter candidate. Once they have a new messiah, they’ll dog-pile onto Obama and beat him to death; thus clearing the field for the new candidate.

Obama is merely the latest symptom of a disease that has been festering in American social life for decades.

The "Marxis changes" - or more correctly, the expansion of the Federal government beyond its Constitutional bounds - have been enacted over decades by a people who ceded their liberties and freedoms to "strong leaders" in Washington, in the various State capitals, in the county seats and cities and town councils, in the homeowner's associations, in the churches and synagogues, and ultimately, at the heads of the family dinner tables in each of our homes.

Want change? Then start it yourself. Change has to come from each and every one of us. It starts by taking responsibility for one's own life, genuinely turning to one's Creator and pleading for forgiveness for one's share of this national charlie foxtrot, and actually starting to give a damn about being a citizen in good standing of these United States.

No one else can do that for you.

Only you can make change happen.

However, if you need a "strong leader" to do it for you, then you don't deserve the liberties and freedoms that you have, nor do you deserve to call yourselves Americans.

My fear is that we end up running another RINO statist like Romney, or an amnesty queen like Perry. Either way, we’re sunk!

You can’t back-up your stupid statement. If you want a “Weak Leader” to have the Presidency of the United States just keep on “keepin’ on”. Regardless of your train of thought. The President of the United States is considered the “LEADER” of the “FREE WORLD.

We face a battle that we can win. Nothing is taken for granted. The policy of Obama is finally getting notice and there is no reason a “Strong Leader” will abide by Constitutinal Law and “Deem” the majority of his actions UNCONSTITUTIONAL!

I hear the Anarchists are looking for a few good men. Give’em a call. And I’m sure we are all thankful that you are the arbiter of citizenship, now go play with your Paulite buddies and let the adults have a conversation.

The President of the United States is the chief executive of the Federal government of the United States and nothing more.

I'm an anarchist because I call for folks to start taking responsibility for their lives?

Put down the bong, old timer.

No, because you seem to have a problem with ‘strong leaders’. That’s an anarchist thing isn’t it? Yup. Don’t be shocked it you spout their mentality that someone might think you are one.

Stop digging.

What I would REALLY like to know right now is how many of our congresscritters have a good amount of their wealth tied up in markets not affected by America's current debacle. Basically, I want to see all congresscritters' financials. If were going down, they better damn well be coming with us and the ones that won't be I wanna know about for future considerations.

“Get rid of the African Muslin in 2012. Please.”

Never in a million years. The base is about fifty percent, there are still some Progressives out there who say they’re Independents and who move left instinctively, and he’s going to be re-elected by the psychotic adolescents who put him and all those Democrats in office.

IMHO

I wondered that myself. 10% of a long-term portfolio takes all gains back a year, and is quite an amount of money. Now with rising interest rates piled on top of it, the community organizer is about butt-deep in a pile of crap.
