The left-wing activist group MoveOn.org picked up the new liberal slogan bashing conservatives for Standard & Poor’s U.S. credit rating downgrade: “Tea Party downgrade.” President Obama’s chief campaign strategist David Axelrod and Massachusetts Democratic Sen. John Kerry both used the phrase on Sunday talk shows.
In a Sunday afternoon email to supporters, MoveOn.org accused tea partiers of being responsible for the first-ever credit downgrade in U.S. history. “This ‘tea party downgrade’ is a shameful blow to our nation’s honor and risks throwing us right back into recession,” Moveon.org wrote. “Worst of all? It was completely avoidable. But when given the choice between extremist posturing and responsible leadership, tea party Republicans chose wrong.” (RELATED: Axelrod: ‘This is essentially a tea party downgrade’)
MoveOn.org added that “now, amazingly, they’re trying to pin the blame on Democrats.”

We all know it is a lie, however...
1. If Boehner doesn’t combat it...
2. If our side on interviews with cameras in their faces don’t educate the masses at the 6th grade level with charts and so forth...
3. If our side has no outlet other than Rush, Freep, Levin, etc., then what they say becomes true
That’s the truth and our Tea Party lobbyists and so forth better be in contact with our side (House, Senate, etc.)...
The PROPER RESPONSE to this should always be:
“Obama inherited a AAA+ Credit Rating, and DESTROYED IT!”
We have 8 tea party patriots still on the floor keeping congress in session preventing Obama from making recess appointments as we speak..The article from the hill has been scrubbed, but I salute those 8
A year ago the Tea Party had an 18% unfavorable rate.Now it’s over 40%.Why?The media!!! They will run this meme until the Tea Party favorables are in negative numbers.
The TEA Party is significant, but it’s not all powerful, certainly not inside The Beltway. We need to elect a lot more of them to change things in a major way.
You will never convince some goofy people (I have several in my family). However, few are going to buy into the fact that the Tea Party members are the cause of the downgrade. If anything it vindicates their position.
1. Denial — there is no debt problem. The world owes us a living, and we can borrow as much as we want for our entitlements.
2. Anger — find someone to blame. Our bonds wouldn't be downgraded, if it weren't for those nasty bond-rating agencies. And, hey, the Tea Party is handy; they must have done this.
3. Bargaining — or begging. Off to China we go, begging bowl in hand.
4. Depression — as in world depression.
5. Acceptance — we couldn't make everyone richer; but we could make everyone poorer. Success!!
This whole mess was started decades ago when people started believing the government could solve our problems.

Just before I saw this thread I was on the Atlanta Urinal & Constipation’s website and saw an article about “Tea Party downgrade.” The lie is moving fast.

That will work for a while, but they will need to do something positive on entitlements before the next election..or there will be another down grade.
The President is obliged to present another budget to congress..what will it be? More of the same?
My rationale is that even libs are getting tweaked at the BS coming out of Washington and hell hath no fury like a lib scorned. In all things there comes a tipping point (except for Guam, certain Congressmen and the military ;)
More people were adopting the TEA attitude before the SHTF over the debt deal. This newest fiasco is going to financially hit libs already questioning things just as hard as we who have questioned it all along. The ‘big lies’ have come so regularly that there is no longer a “BIG” enough lie to tell.
Regular people headed toward the TEA Party will not turn back, only run there faster. They know this is BS. Now the libs are questioning it too? That means that even if the TEA Party doesn’t get a big lib membership boost, those libs aren’t going to just roll as easily and buy the DC BS. That hurts the establishment Libs immensely.
Wait a few days till the screaming dies down and the reality sets in. I think there will be a big shift in attitudes once the chaos of the shout shows gives way to reality.
This is not going to end well if the left and the liberal GOP don’t stop denigrating the tea party people...first it was the uninformed mob, then it was the racist mob, now it is a bunch of terrorists....you know, be careful what you wish for because the uninformed racial band of terrorists is just not going to take it much longer.
Get off your meek butts, Republicans.
Stand up to these liars.
