But none of these things has anything to do with this rioting, as neither does your suggestion. I’m sorry you don’t like the royal family, but it has nothing to do with this.

Brits must feel pretty hopeless not having many weapons. If someone tried to damage my house they would likely not walk away.
Some of those pictures look like they could have come straight out of 1940 during The Blitz.
If they are armed with machetes, then the police should open fire with sidearms!
If feel so bad for the civilians who have had to surrender to these thugs, while the police exercise very poor judgment in the feeble attempts to suppress the violence.

Well, they’re called “youths” by the BBC...
It’s amazing to think that some LP party hack can talk about 30 years of “inequality” after well over a decade of LP control within that time along with national health, council housing, and other socialist policies that have been part of the UK’s national fabric for the better part of a century. Would it be banal to compare these sorts of people with Hitler? No! Like Hitler, they are motivated by the belief that they have been wronged, but when they see an opportunity they cannot be appeased. They must be fought and defeated decisively.
The police don’t *have* sidearms. They could caution them to desist from their activities, though. In a respectful way that observes the miscreant’s dignity.
Riots...stock market...it’s happening just like Glenn Beck said it would.

Well, I would say that facing off against mobs of thugs with machetes requires a visit to the armory before heading out to the streets! These bastards are not going to respond to “harsh looks” and oral warnings from the constabulary. How far are the police going to let this go? Are they going to let this continue up to the point that the gangs approach Buckingham Palace???

Because unlike in America most police in “western” countries only carry radios and whistles and maybe a stick.

But the riots supposedly started BECAUSE a police officer shot an “unarmed” man? Please explain.
Yep, arson is cause for deadly force. I am truly amazed that there have been no fatalities yets except for the ne’er do well Master Duggan.
