McCain faces rowdy crowd in Tucson (Torches and Pitchforks Alert)
KVOA-TV NBC 4 Tucson, Ariz. ^ | 2011-08-09

TUCSON-U.S. Republican Senator John McCain was in Tucson Tuesday for a town hall meeting. And, boy did he get an earful from constituents.

McCain expected a rough meeting and he got it.

The meeting room at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 1431 W. Magee Road, was packed.

The crowd was mixed with people on all sides. There were Tea Party conservatives, moderate Republicans and liberal Democrats. All sides challenged McCain.

Asked about entitlements, McCain said, "With Social Security we should be raising the retirement age gradually, not for present day beneficiaries." And some in the audience yelled back "no".

The question of taxes caused the loudest outbursts.

McCain recommended, "Let's cut the corporate rate from 35 percent to 25 percent." Some in the audience cheered. Others booed. One man screamed at McCain, "You're an idiot."

Another speaker begged McCain to raise taxes on wealthy Americans like him. He said, "I'd rather pay higher taxes so that man can live, rather than take another trip to Italy." Many in the audience applauded. But McCain said "no." He believes tax hikes would further damage the economy.

It was clear. People are frustrated with Washington. A woman told McCain, "We have a huge mess in our House. I have to keep my house under control, okay."

McCain says he's taking his cues from voters. Repeatedly he said, "Last November that election overwhelmingly said ‘stop the spending'."

McCain called on President Obama to put together a detailed spending plan and then to call Congress back from vacation to debate it.

Quite frankly, these people are Jackassses.

THERE, I said it (sounds like Mark Levin).

Why?

Because they had every good chance to turn THAT jackass out of office. And whaaaaaat did the good and most wise people of Arizona do?

They returned the RINO to office.

Just like idiots electing Obama and then wondering why they and large numbers of their family members are now unemployed.

Morons.

It must be the sun.

And YES, I am angry at those that might have shown up and yell at him, but had actually voted for him. I bet there were some.

McCain, son of Sauron, get thee back to Mordor. And take all the stupidity you inspire in others with you.

"McCain says he's taking his cues from voters."

If that was true he'd STFU more often. What a blooming idiot. And his dippy daughter, too.

"I'd rather pay higher taxes so that man can live, rather than take another trip to Italy."

That guy's the idiot. So are the people who applauded him.

He can forego the trips to Italy right now and give the money to people who need it--people who are out of work because compassionate but stupid Leftists like him have destroyed the U.S. economy! How compassionate was that? How stupid was that?

The reason people are at the impoverished is because Federal spending is bankrupting the nation and destroying its economy.

What a moron!

"Last November that election overwhelmingly said ‘stop the spending'."

McCain's right for once.

They returned the RINO to office.

There were no democrats to compete against mccain. We only had JC Hayworth. mccain fought tooth and nail when the state republican party made a move to keep an open primary, permitting anyone from any party to request a republican primary ballot. On that news, we became Arizona Independents. The GOP failed us for the last time here. We voted in the primary for Hayworth, but the democrat crossover pushed mccain way over the top. It was all over after that.

It was the mccain establishment and democrats that elected mccain. Not true Americans.

I keep hoping the good people of Arizona will recall his worthless arse. But then I realize, they knew what they were voting for all along and they voted to reelect him anyway.

Unboweevable.

The reason people are at the impoverished is because Federal spending is bankrupting the nation and destroying its economy

Their liberal, guilt ridden spending has created a mass that is now totally dependent on the government and feeling completely entitled.

“McCain called on President Obama to put together a detailed spending plan and then to call Congress back from vacation to debate it.”

What is wrong with this guy? Why does he insist on surrendering the Congressional power of the purse to Obama? Did those North Vietnamese torture ALL the fight out of him?

I read the comments by the attendees. Collectively they don’t have enough sense to make a half-wit.

“that election overwhelmingly said stop the spending.”

YES!!! Now retain that thought Mr. McCain. Us little HOBBITTS out here want you in Washington to STOP THE OUTRAGEOUS SPENDING! Obama and the Democrats are like kids who have been given the keys to the candy store; and we resent his spending as well as his “let them eat cake” attitude with his and Michelle’s lavish and very frequent vacations.

The “TEA PARTY HOBBITTS” HEARD the voice of the people to STOP THE SPENDING. Now, stop brown nosing Obama and get with the HOBBITTS!!

Signed,
Twinkie Hobbitt
