NY Times: A Test for Obama’s View of a One-Term Presidency

WASHINGTON — It was a year and a half ago when President Obama told Diane Sawyer of ABC News in an interview that he would rather be a good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president.

Now, coming off one of his worst weeks since taking office, Mr. Obama is nearing a decision on whether he really meant that.

The Federal Reserve’s finding on Tuesday that there is little prospect for rapid economic growth over the next two years was the latest in a summer of bad economic news. One administration official called the atmosphere around the president’s economic team “angry and morose.”

On Tuesday afternoon, the White House announced that Mr. Obama would be taking an “economic bus tour” in the Midwest next week, with stops in Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota.

Though the trip is not a campaign event, it could help shape voters’ perceptions of whether Mr. Obama is more concerned about being remembered for that one good term or whether he wants another four years in the Oval Office no matter what.

Nice truck pic, especially with the New Mexico plates. This was a state that should have gone to Bush in 2000 but they “found” votes for Gore at the last minute.

If the GOP bungles this election and let's Obama have another term, shame on all our houses. I still say: The GOP needs to nominate Sarah Palin. She has been vetted for 3 years. There's nothing they can dig up on her. NO OCTOBER SURPRISE WITH SARAH!!! (And how about Marco Rubio for VP? I still say that whomever carries FL wins the White House.)

Wisconsin, many of those union thugs who operated up there came from Illinois. I doubt they're too happy about him down here right now...
Yeah; the Union thugs and Dems failed, yesterday, to take control of the WI State Senate. GOP held onto 4 seats and Dems only took 2. Can't wait to see Chris Matthew's, Rachel Maddow's and Lawrence O'Donnel's face tonight. Two dems up for recall next week.

Rubio cannot be President so he cannot be VP.

He has the same problem as Obama...his parents weren't US citizens when he was born.

With stories like this, Obama may get a lukewarm reception even in his Illinois democrat strongholds. And those are the only locations he's popular here.

If the Democrat party had any real THINKERS among its ranks, .it would work to impeach and remove Hussein from .his post.

Instead, it has haggard old women like Harry Reid, cultists like Claire McCaskill, and commies like Chuck Schumer.
