US: Strike kills militants who downed US chopper (JUSTICE and REVENGE!)
MSNBC ^ | 08/10/2011

An air strike by NATO-led forces in Afghanistan killed Taliban fighters, including a local leader, who were responsible for a weekend helicopter crash that killed 38 troops, the worst single incident in 10 years of war.

"We dealt with them in a kinetic strike," General John Allen, the commander of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan, told reporters at the Pentagon.

Gen. Allen said the military tracked the Taliban fighters for several days after the helicopter went down. Forces reportedly trailed the fighters to a position in Chak District, Wardak Province, and then US F-16s struck and killed them Tuesday.

"The strike killed Taliban leader Mullah Mohibullah and the insurgent who fired the shot associated with the Aug. 6 downing of the CH-47 helicopter, which resulted in the deaths of 38 Afghan and coalition service members," the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force said in a statement.

Absolutely. Take it a step further— someone went to great effort somewhere in the news cycles on this to officially say that NONE of the killed SEALS were on the actual bin laden strike team.

This was initially reported in the media that the actual team was killed in this... later changed to “members of the same SEAL team as...”

So, one is informed that none of the strike team were revenged,... so they say, but we will never know.... just 22 members of the SEALs sent to rescue a Ranger unit, on specOps.
By this attack on the “actual taliban shooters” we are supposed to now not question WHY we had 22 lost, all on the same chopper, and a somehow “lucky shot” from pre-placed shooters who knew the path of the chopper. We taught these people these tactics. The Paki intel insider knew one of the afghans on board, or their taliban aligned drug dealing commander... there is the link.

A famous quote: “You can rent an Afghan, but never buy one” applies. As does Kipling’s “Young British Soldier”:

“When you’re wounded and left on Afghanistan’s plains,
And the women come out to cut up what remains,
Jest roll to your rifle and blow out your brains
An’ go to your Gawd like a soldier.
Go, go, go like a soldier,
Go, go, go like a soldier,
Go, go, go like a soldier,
So-oldier ~of~ the Queen! “

Can you imagine serving with these people? Whose opium marketing tribe is on top changes overnight. We either define the mission and complete it or we need to get the hell out of this and/or turn them to glass. It is a way of life for them and we are wasting the best we have. Democrats love to destroy our warriors— it is an old motif, and these are obama’s ROEs.

You can joke all you want but try hard not to underestimate our special forces capabilities.

In light of cramming 30 of them in one helicopter for a mission better suited to a QRF?

I totally respect their capabilities, but they are only as good as their orders constrain them to be.

Besides, we needn't really argue too much. This still all stinks so bad that we are arguing over the propaganda we are being fed on both ends. The only people who really know how SNAFUd this is won't say. The only people who are talking, good or bad, work for the FUBAR in chief.

Well, I’m having to think abt whether this strike, supposedly getting the bad guys who did this, is ligit or not. That’s why I love the FR so much (yes, I’ve donated...)because I get to sift through alot of opinions that make sense.
I think the commanders are guilty of marginalizing our troops by restrictive ROEs, playing “nice” with the Paks and Afghans, and playing PC with the game plan...
I served, my husband served - support for the military here is unquestionable...
for the civilian and military leadership, not so much...

Right, killed 2 dirty pajamas using a weapon that costs 400K a shot, having lost 22 trained BEST OF THE BEST, as what real cost to families, to unit morale, to the warrior spirit. So, we could track them after the fact and kill them, BUT we didn’t know they were where they were BEFORE we sent the chopper right by them. We have IR, we have eyes in the sky. The heat from a human against the background in cold mtn. air is easily distinguished. Op security on this was just piss poor.

We all need to stepup and support these families and the serving warriors. obama finds an excuse to show up at Dover— after someone in his employ gave away the intel. We must pursue the WHY of this... no quarter on the truth.

I guess kinetic is now a stylish media word for military attacks.

From the Merriam-Webster Dictionary

kinetic - of or relating to the motion of material bodies and the forces and energy associated therein. Synonyms - gay, perky, animated, pouncy, frisky.

As Red Foreman would say about Hussein, "He's a dumbass."

It's called "a nice, clean story that may be true or may be fabricated but nobody will ever know the truth anyway."

In different times this might have been called "propaganda."

As one who has gone down in a Huey in Vietnam, I cannot understand why we sent in 30 plus people in a stupid, slow, huge chopper like a Chinnook to a hot LZ. That just is stupid. You can hit a Chinnook with a shotgun from a mile away. Like a flying 18 wheel trailers. I had rather have had several Blackhawks than one Chinnook.

The Afghans were the first to report this crash - with very fast and accurate numbers of those killed for such a remote area and sensitive mission - and “offer condolences”

The Afghans also reported this helicopter was downed in an elaborate setup orchestrated by Paki intelligence helping the taliban
(Yeah though I enter the Valley of Death...)

That part hasn’t made the US news MEdia
Remember, Paki intel was miffed and embarrassed at being cut out of the loop by CIA and blindsided on the Bin Laden operation right under their own noses, and thanks to Barry’s instant announcement of the raid, quickly wiped up the in-country CIA collaborators they could find

So those Pak-rats helping Bin Laden, and those with wounded national pride, had motive for revenge

And why the fuch didn’t they take these SOBs out before they assassinated our heros, huh?

This counter-punching bullsh1t is just that: bullsh1t!

Obama is sacrificing our absolute best simply to prove war is bad and reduce U.S. military prestige, and he only makes a move after the bad guys have done something that might make his poll numbers go down.

I don't know why, but I found your post amusing.

You are clearly a better person than the rest of us, as your language and disdain for others imply.

Let me clarify for you.....

I believe in the US military. I understand that there are brave young men and women volunteering to join up and go fight against the enemy....and some even understand that they are fighting against an evil enemy.

They obviously believe that people are worth saving from brutality and tyranny.

So do I.

I am reminded of this scene from the movie Pulp Fiction.

Gratuitous Biblical passage recitation and gun play warning.

Actually, I read through the entire Bible every year, caww.....including the tough passages in the Old Testament.

And I know from that, that we are all sinners, that God sent His Son to die for the entire world, that He loves those whom He has created, that none of us.....NONE of us.....deserve His love, and that He does not want any of us to perish.

I don't understand the 'why's' of where people are born, live and die, but I do try to grasp as best as I can, the love of God.

Are you refuting my statement that the Afghan people need to know of God’s love for them, or are you just trying to be cute?

NOTICE TO ALL FOREIGN CITIZENS and THEIR GOVERNMENTS!
(EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY)

1. As a sovereign nation, you have the same rights to govern your nation as we have. Whether freely elected or despotic tyranny, how you run your government and DOMESTIC affairs is between you and your leaders. If you people don’t like how your government is behaving, we suggest you read some American history for the period between, say, 1774 and 1789. The world is awash in various sorts of small arms and other weapons. Getting enough to turn out your tyrant-du-jour ought not be a problem. Yes, many people will die (just as they did HERE in the late 1700s). It’s the price of freedom. But — and this is important to us — our SOLDIERS will not be among the dead. And even MORE importantly, MY kids and grandkids won’t be there. And trust us when we tell you that the casualties of your revolution will pale compared to those you will suffer should we be forced to invoke Clause 3!

2. Please pay SPECIAL attention to the word “domestic” in number 1. Speaking of “domestic,” we American will take greater care as we elect “leaders” so as to never again send our people to an unnecessary or futile war. We pledge to take greater care to choose folks for those positions who will honor their oath to God and, more importantly, will send packing those among them who have violated THEIR oath to God and remained silent in the face of questionable or manifestly UNCONSTITUTIONAL deployments. We MUST do OUR DUTY and DUE DILIGENCE as citizens before we can ask these courageous men and women to go to war, too many of whom return home in those terrible aluminum boxes through Dover AFB. This Air Force veteran saw them during Vietnam. When we, the people, were more attentive to electing honorable and honest AMERICANS to those leadership positions, we would not be sending our kids off to die in these questionable and unconstitutional causes.

3. The MINUTE we become privy to firm, corroborated intelligence that you have plans to harm the United States or one of our recognized allies — or, worst case — DO, in fact carry out such an operation, the United States and any such allies who wish to assist will come to you and request that you cease and desist. If you refuse to do so, we will, by A CONSTITUTIONAL DECLARATION OF WAR, TURN MOST OF YOUR LAND INTO A SMOKING RUIN. If you’ve never seen RUBBLE BOUNCE, it’s quite a sight. Just as the Japanese saw that in 1945, we saw a good bit of that on 9/11 – and will never forget it. The Japanese never forgot it – and neither will those of you who survive! We include in this list of threats AIDING, ABETTING, HARBORING, TRAINING OR SUPPLYING THOSE WHO, ALTHOUGH NOT CITIZENS OF YOUR NATION, MAKE PLANS TO HARM US OR AN ALLY.

We wish to live and have peaceful, honest and fair trade with all peoples — BUT harm us or injure/kill American/allied citizens AND YOUR WORLD AS YOU HAVE KNOWN IT WILL SIMPLY GO AWAY — FOREVER. No more PC “Nation Building” crap. Our military will be employed ONLY for those tasks for which they have been traditionally trained throughout history: TO KILL ENEMY TROOPS AND DESTROY ENOUGH OF THE ENEMY’S “STUFF” TO CAUSE THEM TO QUIT THE FIGHT. If some of you think we need “Nation Builders,” send in the UN — from which America will have withdrawn and “off-shored” to somewhere in Europe (and good luck with these clowns).

(If you have never seen it, slide on down to Blockbuster and rent “The Day the Earth Stood Still” with Arabic/Farsi or Chinese subtitles, of course. REREAD 3 AND THINK “GORT.”)

And also remember that, since we have pulled our guys out of other nations and closed those bases – horribly costly activities with which we are no longer burdened — we have devoted those diverted resources to new, more effective human intelligence gathering methods using many of YOUR citizens as paid snitches (no more stupid Church Amendment!) so we WILL KNOW when you’re up to no good. And don’t forget that those freed up resources will allow development of more devastating weapons should we need them. Trust us when we tell you that they’re really cool.

Speaking of “cool,” we’ll send all the Kool-Aid you might request but the FOREIGN AID FROM HERE IS OVER. Yep, the gravy train is out of fuel. Since so much of it has wound up in the Swiss accounts of your local despot (or back in a few international banks to cover their crappy “loans” to your dear leader to support his regime), your citizens probably won’t even miss it.

4. Once those smoking ruins have sufficiently cooled – and the radiation levels have fallen — we will put boots on the ground, clear any remaining resistance and seize your former property for the benefit of those who participated in the neutralization of the threat you posed. Casualties among our troops should be very limited because, as we think you have seen, the weapons possessed by the United States will leave very few to resist. REREAD 4 AND THINK 51st STATE!

Call us with any QUESTIONS. Or visit our web site at www.bendoverandkissyourassgoodbye.gov

Thank you for your support in this vital matter.
The SANE People of the United States of America (all 30 of us).

Until this becomes our policy, we continue to honor those who have paid the ultimate price for the freedoms so many of us now take for granted.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WDrbbtaO0E
A photo was recently posted on the web showing a white board in a Marine barracks in Iraq on which one trooper had written the following:
“America is NOT at war. The United States military is at war. America is at the MALL!”

Indeed!

PS: Once we rid ourselves of Obama and his thugs, we’re going to tap our OWN natural resources so we won’t be need all that petroleum from the Middle East. You folks over there might want to accelerate your program to convert sand and oil into something edible. Later!!

BTW, Really like your tagline. I may steal it.

Kinetic has been a military buzzword since before Obama. Some staff officer probably coined it so he could score a couple extra points on his fitness report.
