When the coffins of the fallen Navy SEALS came back to US soil, the Pentagon and the White House closed the event to the press. That's understandable. After all, the Bush administration made similar restrictions for such ceremonies, although Obama overturned the policy. The press complied as well, but when the White House released a photo yesterday of President Obama saluting the coffins at the ceremony, they raised their eyebrows. When Associated Press reporter Ben Feller asked about the photo today at the White House Press briefing, Carney answered:

Why release any photo at all?
These people suck!
I know what you are referring to, and all I can say is: Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
“I am glad I am not the only one who saw that similarity.”
That makes three of us.
Just a week excuse for the real purpose of a photo op for mac, the carbaby liar, Daddy.
That is one creepy photo. And what’s with the guy in uniform NOT saluting?
Did I call or or what? It was all about the damned photo-op.
Someone should tell him he looks like a DORK in that picture. :)
Disgraceful.
“Controlled Release”????
Is that like the Feds who ‘manage’ “Controlled Burns” in our National Forests here in the West? We had 4 days of smokeover here east of Reno when they started a burn near Porterville in Calif a couple of weeks ago.
Isn't that what Bawney Frank did yesterday on TV?
#%*&^#@ soetoro!
What a photo-op wh—e.
Is a “transfer case” a coffin?

He is a failure.
Your recollection is correct.
That picture will be the final scene in his reelection movie due 10/2012.
No, it's not understandable. Obama and Biden accused President Bush of trying to hide the terrible human cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan with his policy...except it was a policy established in 1991.
If they really meant it and weren't just scoring electoral points, they'd continue to allow reporters.
They need to tell us again...’Controlled release’ of who/what?
They worked up a dramatic photo of who? Our president. This wasn’t supposed to be about him. That is just wrong. I could say so much more, but I won’t. God bless our soldiers and their families, and may God be with them.
I dunno - it looks more like he’s thumbing his nose at our fallen soldiers than that he’s saluting them...
Think so too, but he’s been doing that for years (thumbing his nose at our military.)
