There may be an overtly political reason that moviegoers will be seeing the story of the Osama bin Laden raid just before they vote for president. Sony Pictures, the company distributing next year's film, hosted a fundraiser for Barack Obama on their studio's premises in California last April. So far, Sony is the only major studio to hold a political fundraiser this cycle. According to Deadline Hollywood, Sony will release the bin Laden movie, directed by Academy Award-winning director Kathryn Bigelow, on October 12, 2012--less than a month before the presidential election.
"The eyebrow does go up when you see the release date," says Douglas Urbanski, a Hollywood producer and conservative radio talk show host. Urbanski said he believes Bigelow's movie will be straightforward and apolitical, much like her 2009 war film The Hurt Locker (which won the Academy Award for Best Picture). But Sony's decision to release the bin Laden movie just weeks before the election, he says, is most likely "very, very deliberate."
Urbanski was a producer for The Contender, a 2000 political thriller with a plot that sympathized with a sex scandal-plagued Democrat and demonized a conservative Republican member of Congress. The movie was released on October 13, 2000. "It was without a doubt a deliberate attempt to influence the election," says Urbanski.
Sony Pictures could not immediately be reached for comment.
With ticket prices what they are someone could host a NOT this movie fundraiser for the military in which people send in the price a movie ticket WOULD cost if they were to go to the movie. Maybe for Seals 6 families, college funds or something. Sort of a boycott but with a twist to it.
This video and (English transcript, sub-titles, if/when available) of the eye-witness could take the edge off that plan.
Someone should download and save the video so it does not disappear. Sadly I don’t know how to do this

It didn’t work for John Glenn with The Right Stuff and it won’t work for Obama. In fact, it will backfire big time.
The economy will be so bad in a year, people will be sleeping at voting places anyway in order to get rid of this guy. They won’t even see it lol
It will be a great movie.
America will finally find out what hole Obama was playing on the Golf Course when the Secret Service came and got him to take him back to the Situation Room.
As for me, I’m still wondering whose Suit Jacket he was given to cover up his Golf attire.
I can't even feign shock.
“The Hurt Locker” won a lot of awards and no one saw it. Movie fans aren’t interested in Hollywood’s “nuanced” views of America’s military and it’s accomplishments. This picture will be similar - lots of awards and critics ooing and aahing for a moral-equivalence movie no one will pay to see. It certainly will not win re-election for Obama - his presidency has snowballed past the Carter standard for failure and the only thing that can save him now is a terrible GOP candidate running a terrible campaign.
Yep. This would make Leni Riefenstahl blush.
Triumph of the Swill.
Triumph of the Swill
Brilliant!
We try. Leni was a brilliant film maker, Obama’s
minions can’t hold a candle to her.
She had carte blanche and had the coercive power of the Third Reich behind her "Triumph of Will" enjoying power and resources that no other director-producer has enjoyed since. Her talent and belief in Hitler produced the most effective and emotion evoking propaganda movie ever.
Still you deserve a hat tip for the quick and evocative turn of phrase that captures the essence of the current socialist turn of events.
Triumph of the Swill. brilliant I say and I'm sticking with it!

Sounds like a new tagline to me... May I?
But no one is willing to do anything about it. Too bad us serfs have no standing.
The guy who played Apophis on Stargate SG-1
correction of tagline
Oops!
Noted and corrected.
Obama needs to resign.
“I wonder who will play the part of 0bama?”
I think they’ll use someone like Denzel Washington or Dennis Haysbert (black prez on “24”) to get us to pretend the faux 0 is a decisive and heroic president, deserving of re-election.
My personal choice is Fred Armisen, who mimics “the one” on SNL.
