NEW YORK — A man charged with killing and dismembering an 8-year-old boy is confused and apathetic, a "practically blank" personality whose younger sister died while institutionalized with schizophrenia, according to a psychiatric evaluation obtained Wednesday by The Associated Press.
The court-ordered evaluation of Levi Aron found him fit to stand trial on murder charges in the death of Leiby Kletzky. Details in the report from a psychiatrist and psychologist at Kings County Hospital show the 35-year-old suspect is deeply troubled, and has given authorities conflicting accounts of his life and his mental and physical history.
A psychologist diagnosed him with an adjustment disorder and a personality disorder with schizoid features.
Schizophrenia is a mental disorder characterized by disintegration of thought processes and diminished emotional responsiveness. A person is more likely to have it if a close family member, such as his sister who died, has it.
"His mood is neutral, practically blank," the psychologist wrote. "The only time he seems to show any emotional response is when he is asked difficult questions about the reason for his incarceration."

A parent’s nightmare. Even if the guy was known to be mentally disturbed beforehand, did anyone know he was this disturbed?
Obvious anyone who dismembers a body has issues...but this guy picked up a kid alone off the street. That makes a statement of itself...... murders and dismembers the kid. Guilty as charged IMO. Everything else is simply going to be used to the advantage of his attorney to win the case.
I am for the death penalty so in this case would have no problem with that for this guy.
Every murderer pleads insanity....it’s the get out of jail free card.
Odd ... seems to me he has a severe nitrogen deficiency. Breathing pure, dry nitrogen for two hours or so will cure him.

Sentencing him and carrying out the sentence are 2 different things.
I've known con artists who do the same thing.
Actually, he didn't even pass that test. They say "personality disorder with schizoid features."
The fact that he made an attempt to hide the body makes it evident that he knew what he was doing was wrong. Anyone who wants to let him escape justice deserves to have him as a next-door neighbor.
Gosh, I sure do feel sorry for this guy. Maybe his mommy and daddy didn’t buy him an ice cream cone when he was little. That would surely justify him murdering and cutting up an innocent boy. If the Democrats have trouble executing him, why, just build a large model of a womb, put him in it, and abort him.

Like Michael Savage said weeks ago. Take this “troubled” man and throw him in the worst prison in the country. Give the guards a ten minute break and let the boys have their way with him. Something tells me he won’t be raping and dismembering boys anymore.
All that’s very interesting. But it’s immaterial to the fact that he murdered a small boy.
Try, convict, execute. No excuses.
Well, yes, he is mentally unbalanced. No ordinary citizen would lure, kill, and dismember a child. And??? He needs to be locked up for what he has done.
What a sad, strange twist of fate that this poor little kid would approach this one guy out of millions.
Still praying for the parents, they must be in such pain.
If he is a diagnosed schizophrenic, he would be so far gone that the actual brain damage associated with schizophrenia would be evident on a CAT scan. That is, such damaged is often pronounced and obvious (and likewise a terminal illness), so it would put to rest any subjective determinations of his sanity.
And, if he had such damage, he needs to be in an asylum for the criminally insane, forced to take medications that won’t help his condition, but will just reduce some of the more grotesque symptoms, until he dies.
If he doesn’t show such damage, off to prison with him, “do svidaniya”.

Surely....someone.....knew this guy was a psycho!......but refused to act on what they knew....possibly thinking it was useless.
This is not a diagnosis of schizophrenia ..The world around us is full of people that have "personality disorders" and "adjustment disorders" ...they are friends and family ..they are not dismembering a kid..
