Columnist Ann Coulter, whose work appears weekly on WND, is joining the advisory board of GOProud, the Republican homosexual activist organization whose leaders say they are "conservative."
The move comes after her controversial decision last fall to speak to the group prompted another conservative conference to withdraw its speaking invitation.
Coulter said in a statement, according to Chris Moody of the Yahoo.com blog The Ticket, "I am honored to serve in this capacity on GOProud's Advisory Council, and look forward to being the queen of fabulous."
The report said GOProud "has caused a stir within the conservative movement, which is grappling with whether to accept organizations that identify as gay."
Officials with the Conservative Political Action Conference, CPAC, announced just a few weeks ago that they would no longer allow GOProud to participate as a sponsor of their conference.

CPAC, run by the American Conservative Union, is one of the largest annual conferences for U.S. conservatives. It had received negative feedback from traditional conservative organizations for including GOProud, with some major groups pulling out of the event.
Coulter had been invited to speak at WND's "Taking America Back National Conference" in Miami in September, but WND founder and CEO Joseph Farah withdrew the invitation because of her GOProud appearance.

GOProud! How many members other than their officers. I bet not many. GOProud is a Trojan horse that exists to place Gay activism in Conservative politics. There is no serious grass roots basis for its assistance.

Nice, and totally agree. Maybe thats why I am not a "huge fan" of anybody's. I enjoy the commentary and opinion of a number of people, but I won't blindly base my beliefs on what they say. I'm a grown up.

These folks are so crazy. They want so bad to lose the election because it is easier to complain about things. They change with the wind. It is amazing. Absolutely no loyalty. I bet most here have written off their children for one thing or another. They drop people like flies. They are working on Al West now. Some people kicked him to the curb over a bill. With friends like these.....God forbid Sarah does something against the grain and she will be kicked too. That is another reason why I don’t get involved with the FREEPER IDOLS that are here. They slobber all over themselves and then a month later start hating the person...definitely teenager material.
The only use they have for us is to increase their incomes by buying their books.
That pretty much describes my opinion as well. Her columns can be interesting and amusing, but her books give me a headache — well, the one I bothered to read, that is. It was sloppily edited, disorganized, repetitive and despite all that, very informative.
So, she’s a net plus in an attack dog, court jester sort of way, but she shouldn’t be taken too seriously. Nor, do I think she wants to be. She’s having too much fun being who she is.
