August 10, 2011 - Cuomo Is 'good,' 'competent,' 'trying,' New York State Voters Tell Quinnipiac University Poll; Gov Is Better Leader Than Obama, Bloomberg

Word format "Good," "competent," "trying," "honest" and "OK" top the list when 1,640 New York State voters use one word to describe Gov. Andrew Cuomo, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today. For example 76 voters say "good," followed by 51 who say "competent" and another 51 who say "trying" as in attempting. These are actual voter counts, not percentages.
Except for "arrogant" at number nine on the list, "liberal," a word that goes either way, at 13 and "disappointed" at 22, the 30 top words are positive. Way down the list, 6 people say "bully" and 5 people say "sleazy," but the words are overwhelmingly positive throughout.
In fact, only one person offered a profanity.
New York State voters approve 62 - 22 percent of the job Gov. Cuomo is doing, compared to 64 - 19 percent in a June 29 survey by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe- ack) University. Voters say 64 - 12 percent that they like Cuomo as a person and 61 - 26 percent that they like most of his policies...

Three disasters, but my fellow New Yawkers prefer the idiot who as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under Clinton probably did the most to foist subprime loans on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and eventually precipitating the housing bubble and financial crisis and our Great Recession.

For many questions, the numbers from upstate and NYC are almost the same!

Obama looks vulnerable in the suburbs.

Whenever there is a proof positive poll that anything liberal is good and anything remotely conservative or even a hint of being right of center is horrendous for all the world it will be Quinnipiac University polling leading the push poll charge!

Why are you looking for people to be upset with a guy who’s been more conservative than the Republicans in NY? Just get your family together and get out. It’s not worth it. The Republicans are worse than the Democrats in NY. It’s a losing battle. Cede the ground and move on somewhere that’s worth defending.

If I were polled on that question, my word for Cuomo would be “homosexual”. His pushing of that marriage nonsense was completely bizarre and unnecessary. Any national political ambitions of his should be totally gone after that.

On other things, he’s not the violent communist that Spitzer and Patterson were, but he is still a socialist and therefore cannot credibly take an oath to the Constitution. If the Rats get ideas about him in 2016, his family’s mafia ties are easily established.

QU is one of the worst polling groups out there.

IN 2010, those QU polls had Gov Scott losing by 6-7 pts on election day and Gov Christie losing too on election day.

QU always leans way left and is very inaccurate.

Upstate has become diversified with the larger cities like Rochester and Buffalo. Many NYC transplants moving up that are less than desirable but the drug trade is good and they like liberal gimmies.
