"You've damaged your own race," said Mayor Michael Nutter to the black youths of Philadelphia whose flash mobs have been beating and robbing shoppers in the fashionable district of downtown.
"Take those God-darn hoodies down," the mayor went on in his blistering lecture. "Pull your pants up and buy a belt, 'cause no one wants to see your underwear or the crack of your butt."
And the mayor had some advice for teenagers looking for work.
"You walk into somebody's office with your hair uncombed and a pick in the back and your shoes untied and your pants half down, tattoos up and down your arms and on your neck, and you wonder why somebody won't hire you?
"They don't hire you 'cause you look like you're crazy."
Nutter is African-American and the first leader to speak out about the racial character of the flash mobs attacking people in one American city after another. And where are our other leaders?

There he go be actin’ all white ‘n shee-it
Nutter BUMP! FINALLY someone is putting some common sense to this.
Obviously one of those hateful white Republican racists.
The politicians who mindlessly repeat the mantra, “Our strength is our diversity”, are idiots. Diversity is a huge liability on any culture.
I have said these very same words and got called a racist for saying it.
Doesn’t bother me much though, as I compare my racism to Sharpton’s ,Jackson’s ,McKinney’s,Obama’s : As a racist I am a rank amateur compared to those guys.
The africans will be calling him “Uncle Tom”, etc before long. He probably just lost most of the the african vote.
Mayor Nutter is right on. It would be racist for any white person to say any of these things.
I’m sure somebody could write a book about the nonsense which comes out of the black community, which in turn hinders black people. Such as :
1. black kids trying to do well in school are “acting white”.
2. the code of the streets is that you don’t snitch on “the brother”.
3. All slights, real or imagined, are settled with violence.
4. young black men have status if they have a baby with a girl, without regard to what type of father he is to that child.
5. the gang is like a family. The honor of the gang is more important than anything else.
6. the man has kept the brothers down, so the young black men think there’s no hope for their future. The pull of the streets is stronger than any long term planning for the future, such as going to school or getting a legitimate job.
7. the ghetto is a disaster because the man is keeping the brothers down, not because the gangs destroy it by burning down buildings, scrawling graffiti everywhere, and God knows what else.
There are other such things which hold back black young people. And, none of this is racist. Any white kids who do the things noted above will have disasterous lives too.
It’s not racist to call black apologists out on some of this nonsense, because whites who live their lives by dropping out of school, running with the gangs in the streets, etc. will have messed up their lives by their behavior and choices in life as well.
"They don't hire you 'cause you look like you're crazy."
If grown up, responsible black men take back 'the community', and resume their place as heads of the black family - - our country will be a better place - for all of us... black, white, whatever. Better - much better.
I was shopping in a sporting goods store about 8 years ago for a few items. Less than $100 total, about 5 items.
When I got to the register- after no help on the floor to find my purchases, I found 2 cashiers, chatting, paying no attention to customers.
BOTH of them had a face full of attachments-—even more numerous than my Shop Vac has—and it was the final straw.
One of them asked me if I had found everything. To this day I could not tell you this kids geneological background. He was a very strange color.
I asked for the manager.
IN FRONT of the cashiers, I told the manager that he could put all my purchases back onto the shelf. I would drive 70 miles round trip to shop elsewhere.
I told him I was sick & tired of dealing with kids who had punctured every spot they could & their mumbling speech due to implements punctured thru their tongues. Since I was the paying customer, I could decide for myself if these 2 represented proper employees to shove in front of the public.
Then I walked out.
All 3 of them had their jaws dropping.
I never will shop at that chain of sporting goods stores again.
I do this sort of thing once in a while. Every so often it garners applause from others in line...Stevie666
