The Charleston Tea Party forwarded along a message this morning from Erick Erickson, managing editor of conservative news blog RedState.com. In it, Erickson warns attendees of this weekends TeaPartyPalooza er, RedState Gathering to be on the lookout for sneaky liberals.
The conference, which will feature talks from Gov. Nikki Haley and Texas Gov. Rick Perry at the Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston, has been generating a lot of buzz since it was revealed that Perry would announce his bid for the 2012 presidency during his speech. A recent Zogby poll placed Perry at the front of the GOP pack, even before he was officially a contender.
Heres what Erickson had to say:
Please be aware that, given the news relating to Gov. Perry, there will be a large media presence. Likewise, I suspect there will be a few lefty activists posing as reporters trying to get Gathering attendees to either say something embarrassing or something that can be edited into something embarrassing. Please use your best judgment at the event when engaged by others. Should you have any problems while there, please let me or one of the RedState contributors know about it.
So, if you go, be careful what you say to people carrying cameras. We're shifty sons of guns.
The buzzing bees of anti-Perry activists with their "Gardasil-TTC-Border" mantra will only continue to highlight and enhance a Gov. Rick Perry nomination as truth of his work here in Texas gains national exposure. Rick Perry as governor, used all resources at his disposal in an attempt to make a cancer vaccine available to Texas children. The governor is battling environmentalist activists in his push for more transportation infrastructure in a state exploding with commerce and population. And using state resources, Gov. Rick Perry (denied the necessary and requested federal help needed by a border state to deal with the consequences of current federal inaction, in addition to shouldering the continued fallout from past federal actions) works to hold the line on the 1250 mile section of the U.S. border between Texas and Mexico, our neighbor to the south.
Perry looks very good at this point in time.
The Francis Marion Hotel, where the gathering is taking place, is named for Revolutionary War hero Francis Marion, the "Swamp Fox."

What could POSSIBLY go wrong with this guy?
Rick Perry:
FIRST: "Don't spend all the money!"
SECOND: "Have a fair and predictable tax and regulatory policy!"
THIRD: "Have a legal system that doesn't allow for over suing and make loser pay!"
You've won today's "Gardasil-TTC-Border" Chew Bone Award.
Sooooo, who do you reccomend?
See now you’re obviously a commie for speaking out against St Rick. LOL

Calling everyone at FR a commie seems like a particularly stupid tactic since the issues listed cover pretty much the entire FR community.
The great white Obama also seems to be using the same tactic of Obama in attempting to control the message.
It should be remembered that a Salon reporter posing as a FReeper infiltrated a Freeper meeting hosted by the South Carolina Chapter of the Free Republic Network in Charleston some years back.
Thank yor for that great information bert.
How in the world is the Charleston City Paper calling everyone at FR commies?

It certainly would be.
On the other hand, I searched the page, and discovered the following facts:
1) The first and second uses of the word “commie” in the thread are found in *your* posts
2) The only other use of the word “commie” so far is from a poster *responding* to, and questioning, your use of the term “commie”.
Just sayin’...
