And he took significant steps to secure the border'? Really?
I know he went to Mexico and bragged about Texas' Dream Act. Was that one of those significant steps?
I know that when another border state (AZ) was being sued by the Obama administration he chose instead to oppose SB 1070. Spare me the reasoning, he should have at minimum said he supported it whether it was right for his state or not. But he didn't, did he?
And I know he has spoken against using E-Verify to prevent illegal immigrants from getting jobs as state employees. Was that one of those significant steps?
In a speech in Mexico in 2007, he said supported completely open borders, calling for the free flow of individuals between these two countries who want to work and want to be an asset to our country and to Mexico. Was that one of those significant steps?
In the same speech he said he was against building a fence along the U.S.-Mexican border. Was that one of those significant steps?
Perry is a fraud. And now that he has announced he will never withstand the scrutiny by his opponents. But you keep advocating for your RINO candidate and I'll keep shooting down your inane posts just as I have done here.
Have a nice day.
That matters not, really. He is one of them — an establishment Republican who can’t be trusted. But thanks for the links.
What is his stance on LEGAL immigration? Will anybody and his dog be able to come into the country, whether he can contribute or just make a bee-line to the nearest welfare agency and has no intention to assimilate?
What does he think of this treasonous one-world-government foolishness or does he really intend to keep this country’s sovereignty? What does he think of sharia law? Will he secure the borders?
Talk to us, Rick baby?
Okay, I will bite. I listened to his speech and he said everything I wanted to hear. Maybe he didn’t mean it but it sounded sincere and spot on with my values and hopes for our country. You claim he is a phony and an opportunist ... Upon what do you base your claim?
He’s got a pretty good stage presence. But does not compare to the star power of Palin. No one beats her on the stump/stage.
Why did the tea party support Perry last year if he is so terrible?
I don’t care if you trust my opinion, but I do have my facts straight. Perry is a career politician who was chosen by Rove and he cannot to be trusted. You can ignore that all you’d like but you can’t change it.
It's a moronic contention. The Algore that Perry supported back than was the conservative Democrat is the race, the one that was pro-life and pushing for warning labels on records.
You're either grossly ignorant or intentionally being deceptive.
I can remember when Gore was very moderate. Still a dim, but at least not bat shit crazy like he is now.
Actually there's a third choice. If that were Perry's only defects they would mean nothing. But given his history of liberal positions like advocating for open borders and support of pro-abortion Rudy Giuliani, I'm not so quick to forgive. You're free to, of course, and I'll respect your right to do so. But I am not ignorant, I am anything but and I would ask that you show me the same amount of respect I show you.
I see you are a newbie with a full 5-months posting under your belt. In light of that you are probably unaware that posters who relay on the personal attack don't last long at FR. So try defending your boy w/o the personal attacks. You might even like it.
Cheers.
Wait. Perry supported GORE! WTF???? Thanks for letting me know. I knew I smelled a rat in Perry. I mean in Texas he has the texans that keep him in line. But on the national stage with the push to compromise I had an uneasy feeling about him going. Now you have just confirmed my suspicions. Thanks for the heads-up. I’ll be sure to push for a conservative candidate to the core.
I really appreciate you letting me know he supported Gore.
Bush sucks. Republicans suck. Conservatives suck. Stimulus saved us all. Republicans poison the air and water. Blah, blah, blah.
Probably MoveOn.org and White House "rapid response" social media team members.
Yeah, he supported Gore in 1988. This is 2011.
