The "Tzeva Adom" Code Red early warning alert system sounded late Saturday night as Gaza residents fired a rocket into Israel. The past month has seen a sharp increase in the number of rocket attacks. The rocket hit an open area of the Ashkelon Coast Regional Council area. There are no known injuries or damage at this time. The short range rockets are often called Kassams, named after Izz ad-Din al-Qassam, a Syrian leader who led riots against the Jewish communities in the land of Israel in the 1920s and 1930s. He also organized riots in Syria and Libya.

Actually, the full Islamic and American/West European far left pro-Palestinian narrative is as follows : in the 1860s through 1880s European jews had enterred Palestine with the goal of ethnically cleansing the indigenous Muslim and Christian Palestinian people from the land and steal their history and heritage. So then by 1920 the European Jews in Palestine had already committed ladn theft, torture and mass murders of the native Palestinians and so the Arab Palestinians, Muslim and Christian, were simply defending themsevles in the 1920 riots. And before the European Jews came, it was all peace and harmony and brotherhood between the Jews and indigenous palestinians, and the Muslims who ruled Palestine were always benevolent and were the saviors of jews when they werre persecuted by Europeans. BTW, anyone know what the current death toll is for Israelis murdered by rockets coming from Gaza ? The UN and Human Rights Tribunal viewpoint is that the number of Israelis killed is insignificant relative the the number of Palestinian civilians killed in the fighting in Gaza, so it would be good to have some sort of number so we could actually see what the unbiased results of the fighting are. It is rather difficult, to put it mildly, getting info on how many Israelis have been killed due to Hamas’s deliberate targeting of Israeli women and children, vs the number of Gazans killed by Israeli attempts to fight terorrists, due to said terrorists making no effort to distinguish themselves from civilians.
