CNN Notices that Michele Bachmann Repeats Talking Points While Governor Palin Answers Questions

Twice in one day. No doubt, some of you will see this as CNN stoking a catfight between Gov. Palin and Rep. Bachmann. We’ve already documented that the media will attempt to do this, and the Governor wants nothing to do with it.

But frankly, this strikes me as a pretty straightforward analysis (once again) by CNN of the two oft-compared politician’s approaches to interacting with the media. I could be wrong, but it seems like Don Lemon is seeing the real Palin for the first time. Kudos for him that he appears to recognize the authenticity that we so admire about the Governor. It’s also not a good sign for Bachmann that she is being labeled as robotic in her interviews. All we can say is “Welcome to our world, Michele. And we’ll see you along the trail.”

Repeating the same lines verbatim on back to back shows leaves Bachmann open to the charge that she is just reading her lines like “The One”. If she had answered a few questions from CNN on Saturday instead of her staff and husband shoving them out of the way, this segment might never have aired.

Michele doesn’t have enough experience, as Castellanos and Donna Brazile were observing. Palin is so much more adept at handling the media, as was Reagan (and JFK, for that matter).

I love my congressman, but I would not consider him ready for the presidency. A congressman? Uh, the Oval Office is not for rookies.

I would vote for Palin, but not for the nomination. I’m probably voting for Cain, if I vote at all. I do believe Palin has more baggage than Bachmann and I also don’t think she’s running.

My point is attacking Bachmann makes no sense unless you want to divide the conservative movement, which is what CNN wants to do and what you’re helping them with. Mitt isn’t a conservative and should be rooted out but Bachmann is.

Using a CNN hit piece as ammo for Palin is not wise and will backfire.

could be. I read she had the lightbulbs changed last night before her speech. Brightlights trigger migranes also. I have no idea if that was why the Bachmann campaign insisted on changing the lighting before the speech or not but I really can’t think of any other reason way they would go to such an effort for a 20 minute speech.

CNN counters, by being fair to Palin? That’s what I’d do if I were in charge over there, though I’m skeptical any part of the media can get past their liberal slant.

They've got a slant alright, but they may have picked up on the fact that media sources that treat Palin fairly tend to get better access. And $$$ still trumps ideology, even at CNN.

The only thought I can add is that Bachmann was probably asked the same question on each show, and had the same answer for an identical question. The video did not show the questions, just the same answers.

It would drive ratings up at CNN and give an opening for CNN to get viewers they would normally not get. I agree if I was at CNN I would try it. MSNBC has the bash Palin viewer locked up. If Foxnews is thinking they are the only stand in town and can treat Palin negatively CNN might just see an opening here.

Yes I did, thank you. Fox has been disrespecting Gov Palin for ages, Bret B repeatedly referred to her as simply Sarah Palin at the debate and pre debate, while at the same time saying Gov Romney,Gov Pawlenty, Congress woman Bachmann.

Prior to the debate he asked a panel while smirking, what about Sarah Palin (again no Gov in front) is she just using this appearance as a publicity stunt? They all agreed but one.

Special Report panel has continually disrespected her going back several years.

Anybody can send Bret a email at special@foxnews.com he quite often answers

I thought you told us Gov Palin couldn’t appeal to indies. Or wait what’s this CNN giving Gov Palin rave reviews for her answers. that’s impossible according to you.

We are talking here about potentially the FIRST female to be nominated for the presidency. And because we know the special hell that the MSM will subject a strong conservative woman to, it is valid that, as unseen1 writes, we look at style and substance.

Paln has made tremendous strides in her public persona in the last few years. Bachmann, to continue to be successful, will have to learn Palin's lessons. I think she can.

However, if you are looking for an ideal conservative female candidate, Nikki Paley is head and shoulders above both of them. Watch any of her speeches..especally the one she did this weekend at the RedState conference. If the GOP manages once again to blow it, then Haley should be the odds on favorite for the 2016 nomination.

It's like asking a question of a general in the heat of battle, Bachmann, versus asking the same question of an arm chair general who is sitting the battle out, Palin. The answers of the general in battle will necessarily be more circumspect.

Not to hard to figure out. Michele Bachmann has paid political operatives coaching her on what to say and Sarah Palin does not. IMO, campaign help should organize schedules and events and leave the talking to the person seeking office.

I hope Cain is still in by the time primaries come along but I think he will be leaving the race sooner than later. From reports his money is drying up and his straw poll performance wasn’t that good. I would rather have Cain than Bachmann.

i tend to take people for what they say. Palin has said she still considers herself a possible candidate therefore so do I. She is giving a speech in IA on sept 3rd we will know more than.

As far as baggage. Palin has been 100% vetted. Bachmann is just started to be vetted and her baggage is growing rapidly.

I don't consider this video from CNN a hitpiece on either Bachmann nor Palin. there was no snark no lies and no made up crap. the reported just did a simple compare and contrast of how two candidates handled Q and A sessions.

I like Haley. And the GOv form NM seems to be good too. Our bench appears strong on both the male and woman front going into the next decade.

Agree 100%

“As far as baggage. Palin has been 100% vetted.”

Agree, this is a HUGE upside that most aren't considering.

No Oct surprise with Palin.

GO SARAH
