I expect our local community organizers here in KC will turn this into a race issue (despite the mayor being black), just like they did when the Power & Light District (downtown restaurant area) instituted a dress code that forbade low-hanging pants.

They stop all self initiated patrol activity, take their posts, and wait for the "herding cats" calls to start coming in. The people swarm around everywhere and have to be constantly moved out of parking lots and street corners.
I've heard officers calling for ambulances for drive by shootings and run over pedestrians, and before help arrives someone else starts firing into the crowd that gathered at the first incident or some drunk plows into the crowd and runs over more people.
Anyone who goes out to "entertainment districts" here at night needs to have their head examined.
Just think what it would be like if they attract a pro basketball team to the Sprint Center.
I remember "hanging out" at Westport in the 80's after the Plaza instituted a no cruising policy. Nothing there but trouble back then, I suspect it has gotten worse.
There have been lots of problems in Westport over the years. Fights, shootings, unruly crowds around the bars there.
What’s happening in the Plaza now is the same thing as in upscale areas of Chicago, Philly, St. Louis. Mobs of young blacks pushing and intimidating frightened white people and stealing purses, cellphones and shoplifting.
They know there are little consequences even if caught. Their aim is to destroy and disrupt. And they are succeeding by causing shoppers and diners to avoid the areas where this is occurring.
